Hi guys, I'm new to this forum, just wondering want you guys where doing for ET & MPH.
I've got a 1980 Camaro with a 400sbc with nitrous, best time last year:
On engine: 12.13 @ 111 mph
150hp nitrous: 11.01 @ 123 mph
going to the track April 30 with new mods

I have not been out yet this year :naughty:
That and the new engine I am buildin.... Remember, I still have stock everything including heads

No, I got screwed out of that block. It had soo many stress cracks in it. Fortunatly, the guy gave me my money back and took the block
That engine was a stage 1 early block
The new engine is a stage II block out of a Mclarin indy car :evillol: All I need to to buy my heads and order pistions. guys consitanly go into the 8s-high 7s with the setup I am hoping to build. Dry sump oiling, gear driven cam shaft. bad ass heads, 9:1 compression, POSSIBIALLY twins. ( I have not made up my mind yet :dunno:)
No, I got screwed out of that block. It had soo many stress cracks in it. Fortunatly, the guy gave me my money back and took the block
That engine was a stage 1 early block

why are you getting a new motor? whats wrong with the LS1, or you just got money like that. Also what motor are you planning on getting, 454? maybe even 572? blown? nitrous? alky hawl?

i think i got wood after looking at dudes link, nice car man. when i get my rebuilt motor and my higher shot of nitrous working im taking her to the track for the first time so i can get a real time and see where my money has took me. i spent alot so far im wanting to get her as close to 10's as i can get. a 12 right about now wouldnt hurt my feelings but i really wanna dip in the low 11's or high 10's

It is only an LS1.
New motor is a 402 LS1 basicly. Same design. Uses LS1 parts. It is basicly an iron block version of an LS2, but stroked. It has a chance of being blown in the long run. Much easier to get 500 RWHP N/A outta a 402 than a 346.
And I had money, lost my job April 1st. I was close to being ready for the swap, until that happened. :mad:

i think he was making a comment of how u said motor instead of engine... motor is supposed to be electric powered, while engine is combustion powered... anybody w/ a brain knew what u were talkin bout, sounds like this guy is just being technical...
