what stops a functional ram air hood from ramming water into your engine? i havent had experience with these type of hoods yet and was curious how that works. i mean when its raining and stuff...

My buddy has one on his 97 cavy and he said something like, water does get in but it pretty much just goes in and straight back and never hits the engine. Hell I was more worried about my invader hood then I would have been over the ram air hood.
If you have seen the invader hood up close you know what I am talking about but if you havent, basically the front vent is scoop pretty much inverted and backwards so thanks to the contour of the hood it makes for one nice rain gutter. I did a custom intake that sits my filter between the front opening between the bumper and the hood (thanks to me taking off that front bow tie piece) and the scoop. So as wind is drug through the slot in the front it slams it through the scoop and all the while shooting nice air straight into the filter.
Only problem with this is my filter sits just right that good rolling water when idleing hits the filter.
Long story shorter IMO a bypass valve is a good buy for piece of mind with any kind of functionally scooped hood. Thats just me being my paranoid self.
