A/C Parts

I have the following air conditioner parts for my 1968 Camaro:

• Compressor
• Accumulator
• One of the hoses (not sure which)
• Condensor

P.S. - The blower is disconnected.

Could you tell me what else I need to install an A/C system? It is getting VERY hot here.

I also have another question for an 1989 camaro, but I though that since it's so simple and general I figured I'd keep the board clean and not make another topic. Anywho:

Is the engine temp. susposed to run near 220 degrees F.?

It seems this is a little high. It has a V8 305.

ya 220 is alright most engines dont turn the fan on till 225 so thats about right. as for your other question i dont know sorry man

my 86 camaro iroc still uses freon for the a/c. I am gonna convert it soon so i cana stop using it. When i take mine apart ill tell u.lol might be a while

I made all the A/C hoses for a 67 Camaro about two years ago for a customer. I used Barrier hose so he could run 134a. He did however have to use worm clamps at the condenser. It has a barbed fitting and I could not use a compression fitting to couple to it. :smile:

You'll also need an evaporator, orifice tube or expansion valve (not sure which was used on that model) , high pressure cut off switch, low pressure cut off switch
