Interior painting help

Alright, its already been discussed, i just have a few questions i couldnt find answered anywhere else.

First off, I'm painting just about everything, door panels, center counsol, dashboard, all trim on the interior.

My main questions are:
1) will regular primer for plastics work as my base coat(this is going on vinyl too.
2) will 400 grit sandpaper work for my between coat wet-sands?
Everyone calls for 1000 grit, i've never seen, nor can i find at any store 1000 grit... 400 grit fine, is pretty subtle...

Any suggestions would be appreciated, ima take pictures today of my progress.

You should ask someone inthe paint shop about the primer,Thats the best place to go.

as for the sandpaper P1000 is the right paper to use for flatting between coats, the paint shop will be able to give you more info on that too.,,.,.,

I painted my interior a while back. The plastic primer worked well on the plastic parts. For the vinyl though I ended up using the G2 vinyl dye, www.g2usa.com. Was more expensive, but worked way better than anything else I tried.

Was the dye glossy? I'm hoping for a universal look, glossy:)

I used flat black all around then put in brushed aluminum interior trim, came out really nice.
