You are right....odd....but encouraging.
VIP Imports is a dealership specializing in "special interest" vehicles. We currently have two US Legal Skylines available (had 3, but just sold one.) With the uncertain future of Motorex, the continued availability of these cars is also presently unknown (Only one Skyline that we are aware of was legalized last year and we sold it). We have earned a significant reputation within the Supra community as we are also the largest dealer of MKIV Supra's in the country. Signficant feedback on our company can be viewed at Supraforums.com by doing a search under "VIPimports.com"
We are always happy to answer any questions directly via e-mail at: [email protected], or via telephone at: (360) 825-4570. We are always willing to consider trades to any of our five locations within the US. Bid with confidence as we have earned a positive reputation for the numerours cars we've sold! We are known for having some of the cleanest Special Interest Cars in the country. We pride ourselves on full disclosure and NEVER misprepresenting anything we sell! The majority of our cars have been dealership inspected with compression checks. We have extensive references and testimonials--we will be happy to put any prospective buyer in touch with any of our previously sold cars shown on our web site. Our ebay feedback also lists numerous car sales transactions, which have all resulted in positive feedback. Some testimonials are also available on our web site, which is our ebay user name.

I saw one street legal Skyline from Motorex and inside the engine bay are metal plates from EPA and DOT basically saying that the car was converted and met specifications. I emailed the seller and asked him why there were no pictures of these very important items on the auction listing. I am awaiting an answer. The reserve is $55,000.00
I just don't trust ebay, If the Skyline conversions keep being a reality. I think I would just buy a GTR and personally get it converted by Motorex(if I choose to) and spend ALOT less money, because when a third party sells it(or second party) They always have to add their "cut" of profits to the sale price of the car. :iceslolan

This car is a legit car :). Spoke with RB about the car and they know the owner of it. I was offered the chance to purchase it since I was looking for a R33.

So you could have bought it? Would you? Just curious, I wanted to ask this awhile but would you rather import the car now and legalize it destroying its originallity or wait 25 years and import the car from another country like the U.K. (youll probably have to, its unlikely to find a car 25 years old in Japan most would have been exported by then) where the car has probably been tampered with and modified to comply with laws anyways?

i wouldve bought it if the job i was basically promised didnt fall through. i mean, i was offered it for the same price as getting one through mrex.

they just got a 97 GTR which was titled as a 95 so they dont have to deal with EPA`s OBD2 issue

no......the car was legalized BEFORE mrex's issues. they had the 95 for two years now....1 year BEFORE mrex couldnt legalize cars 96+.
and even then.....they cant label a car and just get away with it. the VIN (jpn vin) labels the YEAR....the government isnt that dumb.

isnt the reason why motorex has been in trouble was by doing short cuts??this isnt the first time MX put different years on cars so they wouldnt have to deal w/obd2 issues.and if u check ebay,VIPimports has a 96 skyline on there, and they even said on there its a 96 titled as a 95 todo so it can be legalized

mrex had problems with the government because of financial situations, not doing "short cuts" first...it was problems with OBDII arose, meaning all lines with an OBDII system were on hold until the government released them again. the new trouble is them not doing work fast enough. they have over 40 class action lawsuits against them from private parties. theyve released 2 cars in the past year, and customers are getting angry. even sean is starting to think that hiro is going to leave the country, hes already disposed of the hundreds of thousands of dollars he had from customers.

MREx should have done their work faster. 2 cars in the year 2004, damn thats is only 1 car every six months. If i'm 50th in line it will take 25 years to get a car. You can't just give cars a different yaer because it is illegal to change the VIN # out of a car and the VIN is always in more than one place on the car, it is all over the car. Yopu just don't get told. I belevie there is a VIN on the frame rails of the vehicle or what ever is under the car.
