tail light removal help

this is probably a stupid question but i bought red-clear tail lights for my 96 2dr civic. the problem is i dont kno how to remove the old 1s. which bolts do i unscrew, any help is greatly appreciated.

there are 3 bolts on the back of the inner tail lights, and u have to remove the carpet behind the outer lights and remove the 4 bolts. simple enough

thank you for the help, but i see the 1 bolt on the inner tail light but cant find other two, and does it just come off after the bolts are off? and also are there any leakage, sealage issues i have to b concerned with? sry for the ignorant questions, kinda new to this

once the bolts are off, you have to unplug the lights before you pull out the cases because the wires dont have very much travel. the lights won't just fall out or anything once the bolts are off because there are plastic studs that go into guide holes and keep the ligts from coming out without you taking them out. as to the leakage, i know mine have a leak somewhere b/c any time i wash my car i get condensation on the inside of my outer lenses.

thank you, that was very helpful. about the plastic studs, how do i got about moving those? do i have to b careful with them and will i still need them?

i dont have a leak yet, trying to remove tail light but cant get plastic studs off, and wondering is there any adivce on keeping leak out when i put the new tail light in

When I installed my red/clear lights, I used clear silicone to prevent any condensation. The lights should have come with a inner liner that is made of like a rubber type material. That will help to prevent any water from leaking into the trunk. If it did not come with those, they should be on the lights that you are taking off. You definatley want to silicone any aftermarket lights whether it be a head light or tail light because 9 out of 10 times they will build condensation when it rains or when you wash your car.

oh i see, yes it does have silicon on the new one, but i cant get the old ones off, there is a plastic stud preventing me from pulling it off, do i just rip the plastic stud off?
