Electric Supercharger Question's

I saw these electric superchargers on ebay and was wondering if anyone here could tell me the pro's and con's of it.

What I already know is that their is a difference of 30 to 60 horses to it and I think it's supposed to hook up either on or near the air intake hose.

Any opinion's would be welcome'd

You get what you pay for.
There is a lot to supercharging/turbo charging an engine.
Strength of the engine's bottom end, compression ratio, cam shaft(s), fuel management, air management, timing, computer programing, ect.

I picked up 50+ horsepower with just a head swap.

I wouldn't believe they are worth a shi#@! But you can try it and see.

Really the big problem that I can think of with those is that they prob spin at the same speed the ENTIRE time unless they come with a thottle postions sensor which they prob dont cause that would be expensive. In which case without a computer re-flashing you could run your engine dangerously lean and fry it. In theory with the right electrical equipment (hardware and software) it could be quite efficent and effective but like I said that would cost A LOT of money.

You'd get about the same results if you duct taped a hair dryer to your throttlebody and used an inverter in your accessory socket to power it.

I agree that they would not be too good if they ran at one speed only but I should think that if it supplies moderate boost and thus not overstressing the pistons et al that the PCM would compensate for the increased mass in air. Of course there is a limit to what the fuel injectors and pump among other items can keep up with but I think the theory is sound. I have never seen these electric turbochargers and I am in no way suggesting they are a good idea but small boost turbos (exhaust driven) are common and depending on the vehicle can bolt on without having to change anything else. When you start getting into higher boost then other items need to be changed.

I also agree that there are other items that can be changed to increase power such as porting heads, free breathing exhaust, smoothing the intake...

Total crap. Dont work. Dont get them. period.
