Rear wiper Intermitent?

Is anyone's rear window wiper intermitent? My owner's manual says mine's supposed to be, but unless I'm missing some setting somewhere it's not. Quite annoying when it starts to squeek across the window and I have to constantly turn it on and off.
Anyone know how to change the setting to make it intermitent?

The rear wiper is no longer intermittent as of the '02 models. More stupid cost-cutting from Nissan. They could charge 200% markup on whatever it costs, rolled it into the MSRP, and nobody would have blinked.

Do you know of any mod to make it intermitent? Seems a timed relay would do the trick.

Any chance you can take a picture of your switch so I can tell if it'll fit my dash? I checked with a local dealer and they sell the intermitent switches for $26.00.
Thanks,

do you mean intermittent as in being able to set the frequency of the wiper? on my '01, it just wipes about ever 10 seconds or so.....you mean they changed this on the '02???

Yes. I mean it should only swipe about every 10 seconds or so. On my 2002 it's just a constant back and forth. The problem is that the rear window clears quickly, then the wiper screeches across the glass. Very annoying. Even my owner's manual says it should be intermittent. I'm going to try to get mine setup as intermittent. I may even take it to the dealer and point out that the manual says it should be and see if they'll give me a free switch.

Well, this theory ended up being invalid. I went to the dealer today and got a 2000 Nissan Xterra rear wiper switch. Plugged it into my 2002 Xterra and it still NOT intermittent. That means the switch isn't what's different.
I asked the dealer who referred me to a tech. The tech said they changed the wiring harness and that simply replacing a switch or adding a relay wasn't going to fix my problem.
Coolerman, you got any wiring diagrams to compare to find out exactly what the difference is? I could build my own timer circuit, but that would mean cutting and soldering on the factory wiring, which I'd rather not do unless I have to.
