how does thins look:

I dunno because it says street racer, and I am assuming it is abused, but it does have low miles. Then again isn't it near it's 60k tuneup mark? I wonder if that thing would even pass smog.

This is my other choice:

Only 38k, but I dunno if the place is trust worthy. Seems too good to be true. What would you guys go for?

I really should sell some off my cars before I get this one. Got too many already. Lost count :) It is nice having a family that is into cars though.

I want something sort of reliable, but doen't have to be honda or toyota reliable. I have had an 91 SL and 96 GSX so I am pretty familiar with Mitsu and a bit with AWD. But I want to opinion of experts. I know I have tog et the carfax test drive them still but I just want to know what you guys would op for.

Getting a clean GT and keeping it clean, getting a modded one and messing with it or getting a clean one and then modding it myself so I know what goes on with it?

Anyways thankyou for your time and consideration.

A Fromer GT owner...and hopefully a future one....

it pretty much depends on what u want.. the modded one is already done for you if thats what your going for... but it means that it has PROBABLY been raced..maybe not but probably.. the other one may not have been raced but may have had a poor driving.. ya never know.. best thing you can do is ask if you can have them taken to a trusted mechanic to have them checked out then make your decision

Who mods their car and doesnt race it, seriously. All racing is, is accelerating as fast as you can through the first few gears.

true true, I guess it is kinda dumb wasnted a car that hasn't been raced cause there is almost no such thing. Sooo confused. I don't want to make a mistake but maybe the 500hp doesn't sound so bad cause it is 1k less and has soo much more. then again one has like 38k, which is like half as much..roughly. Then again that modded one probably sucks gas down like a freakin aircraftcarrier.

I am only worried because it seems like the two cars that I love are plagued with reliability problems... the GT isn't too bad but those RX7s are supposed to be an arm and a leg to maintain... and they still get bad gas mileage..even for a 1.9L or whatever it is..soemthing like that. I'm not complaining about gas mileage, just as long as I'm not getting below 15 I am fine.

soo many decisions. What would you guys get personally. I want your guys opinions.

I'm gonna go with what everyone else said. If you want to mod it in the future, you may want to consider the heavily modded one. I think 'racing' is too often categorized as 'abuse' Yes it is harsher driving climates. But I'd rather a car that has been raced by an owner who loves it, then driven normally, by some idiot who takes it to the local JiffyLube for repair advice. If the car runs well, I don't see the problem. Yes your gas mileage will suffer, no you probably wont pass emissions like that, and yes with 500hp there is definantly a higher pecentage of chance that something will break...but it has its obvious advantages as well. For 15k your getting a low mileage vr4 with 5k in mods. If modding is something you want to do, than that is an amazing deal.

On the other hand, the other is an amazing deal, and you have the advantages of lower mileage, and if you choose to mod, you can do it yourself and in the path that you choose. Using the parts you want, not what someone else wanted. So they all have their advantages. Good luck with the decision.

If it were me, I'd get the modded one. It still has relatively few miles on it and alot of $ in mods. Someone who mods a car like that may not abuse it all the time. When you know you have it, you don't have to flaunt it all the time. When I drive my VR4, I shift around 2500 all the time. Once in a while on a nice day I wind it through the gears once or I have a run in with a car and have a go at it. That is very occassionally though. Probably someone who has the power would be similar...or at least hopefully.

Yo FastTrack, where in SoCal are you from? I'm in Riverside right now for school. San Rafael....that's way up north. Are you gonna drive all the way up there to get it? I actually live up there too. LOL

As far as getting which one, I'd probably go with the one that's less modded mainly because the mileage is so low. I'd also be skeptical about the modded one because I know it'll be hard not to race your car with that much power. However, Boosted made a valid point that because you do have all that power, you won't be tempted to need to prove yourself so if he didn't abuse it then you'd be all set. So yeah, both has their advantages....hard decision....good luck. :)

Thanks guys, I live here near ventura county. I have family up near san Rafael so we go up there all the time. Yeah I am leaning towards a stock one. If I did any mods besides making it look a a little better would be like intake exhaust w/ piping, boost controller & gauge. The rest would be put all into suspensions really. Iwas thinking about getting an Rx7 Fd but they are too much of a hassle and I don't want something that I'll be spending more time under the hood then in the driver's seat.
