I had to change water pump about three days ago everything went fine. Now when i drive the car it goes about 5 miles then just shuts off. I wait about 5 minutes starts up again, make it back home. Never had this problem before?

This sounds like it could possibly be a crankshaft position sensor. Maybe. When it dies, can you try and restart it? Does it turn over, that is? If so, and it doesn't fire, check for spark. If no spark, then it could be a CPS. It's possible that when changing the water pump, you got something on the sensor (since it's basically directly below it).

Having simular problem. Code reader indicated crankshaft position censor. Replaced sensor, same problem. Friend had simular problem, and was computer. Replaced computer and now does not set any codes but same problem. Runs about 5 miles or until normal operating temp and shuts off. Wait for cool down and then restarts. Replaced control under spark coils (can't remember tech name), now, alt light lights up and voltage is just barely 12 volts and the car still shuts off after 5 miles. Noticed that if you put the car in neutral and keep the engine rpm's around 1500 - 2000 it will NOT stall. Have tried code reader but it is not setting any codes now! Any ideas!!!!

When it was setting codes was the MIL lighting up? On my 94 I'm having a problem right now that sounds something like that, without the stalling. Very low voltage, problems with shifting, cruise control doesn't work right, and some other stuff. I read another thread here that sounded like it was the ECM. I kinda hope so, cause I'm going to replace that tomorrow. Were you having any of the other symptoms before you replaced the computer?

No other problems until replaced the ICM. Then alt went out. Replaced altenator and drove. Worked great. Went to drive it after returning home, same problem, won't start. Checked for spark now don't have spark and the ICM was new! Note: When computer was replaced the ECM was hot to the touch and the car had not been driven!
