This forum used to be fun.We had our differences, but there was a core of commonsense and a rough adherence to the guidelines.

Lately it has become too one sided to be worthwhile.A few trolls who would rather stir shit than argue the points have taken over every topic.

I'm not interested in puting up arguments against these people any more.They have decided to take it personally that I don't like their President, and make utterly moronic claims about me being anti-American.

Well here's the thing.I've found a couple of other political forums where the redneck element with their fractured thinking and love of abuse haven't wrecked the debate.Democrats, Republicans, andnon-Americans can have a decent yarn about current affairs without resorting to the kind of crap that goes on here.

For those of you who like to bray at me, congratulations.I'm off. Carry on your circle jerk without me. Bush remains an asshole.I've got nothing against you guys personally, I'd just rather have a debate than sit here prodding the primates and laughing when they screech.

it could be your "I'm right and you are wrong and everything you say is nonsense because I know what I'm talking about" attitude which causes people to bray at you. I am also a fan of debate but you have an assholish aura when you think your opinion is correct. I have never seen you acknowledge that other peoples opinions hold any value. Other than saying, "You have your opinion and I have mine, and I'm still right." basically. I've never liked debating with you because of that.

His point is that he is right, which is why he never backs down, and he talks down to all the other debaters leaving them with only one option... to resort to his methods of boasting your own point of view and putting down others. But he can't stand it when other people use his tactics so he's going to another forum where people are too "mature" to do that, and he can feel like he wins because they don't hit back with low blows when he does. Its alright, the political discussions are better off without someone who can't handle the same plate he dishes to everyone else.

The political forum is,and always has been,a place where opinions are vigorously challenged,and opinions without facts or original arguments to back them up get stripped back and examined closely.

I'd much rather see original thought from individuals, not parroted propaganda(facts-lick)

RickwithaTBird- You are right on in you analysis of this anally oriented little boy. Let's look at this nasty-mouthed character that makes himself out to be some lone ranger of debate.

First, as someone pointed out this is a bulletin board service- you need to be in the same geographic location with impartial judging to have a real debate. That's a sore point he kept raising "no one will debate by the rules." What rules? His? When people did that and presented hyperlinks to voluminus reports or studies he discounted them. Only his crap was valid. I can remember high school and college debates too and in a real debate the professor assigns points of view to argue so a guy against, I don't know, abortion may have to argue in favor of it. OK? So this forum is just a pissing contest, nothing more when allowed to get out of control.

How did it get out of control? Why was it OK to allow a guy to flame other people on this board? Like Rick mentions a few isolated examples, it was standard proceedure to call people names and tellthem their point of view was worthless.

To paraphrase a typical continuing example "you must be a dickhead to think that! And all you must be dumbshits to have elected an asshole like that to the presidency." Yet he pleaded he was not anti-American.

This form of daily activity (look at the number of his posts 15,000+ that AVERAGED 13 a day!!) became ingrained and others were foul-mouthing anyone that had different views too. He orchestrated the level of debasement that was the norm here.

The nasty language isn't needed to get a point across. If fact it shows the insecurity of the person using shocking language. As an ex-Marine I can curse with the best. But why was it continually necessary? If you have no valid point calling someone an asshole tells everyone you have no conviction in your position and can't "win" without resorting to curse-name-calling. I've seen lots of forums since my 1st computer in 1988 and no where is this level of personal attack allowed.

A bunch of folks have come out of the woodwork now to return to this forum to post their ideas, concepts and voice opposing views. What I suggest is that we treat each other with respect, without petty name-calling, without personal attacks, without cussing for the sake of drama. And if the mofo comes back from his fantasy world lay it down on him as you are now. Don't let him or anyone use the same insidious tactics to make thuis forum their own personal playground.

I took the tactic of finally just ignoring him, scrolling past his posts, and he attacked me still. If we'd all just not read or resonded to his perverted ravings he would have been powerless. Responding to the pure hatered he perveyed gave him fuel.

He's obviously a troubled person you'd normally feel sorry for. Here's some psuedo Japanese screen-named character that lives in the backwaters of the known world demanding how he knows all about the illegal border crossing situation in southern Arizona, for recent example, all the while discounting input from a person that lives and works there! It's just sublime.

All he knew was what he found in snippits on the web about anything concerning the US. Cripes, the Canadians on this forum know more 1sthand about the States that someone one a freaking island south of Nowhere!

How can someone allegedly with a full-time job post 15,000+ times in just 4 years if they weren't compulsive and fanatic about "ruling" the board with their own rhetoric? What kind of life is that? I feel truly sorry for the slug.

Believe it or not, that's a good idea. I would perfer to have a good mix of the left, right and middle. Having a debate, pissing match whatever you want to call it is kinda lame when only one side is posting.

I'm a republican but if the only party in the US was the republican party I would be scared. A one party government would worry me and remind me of my younger days back in the Czech Republic under the Russian rule. A one party government doesn't work since no other party is there to keep an eye on them.

We don't need this kind of language or abuse. Lets try to be nice to each other without the need to flame or throw insults at each other. As a mod on AF I am here to enforce the rules. I can care less what side of the fence you sit on. This also includes Taranaki and the flaming in this topic. So please refrain from more flaming of any member in this topic or any other topic.

As for Taranaki I do believe he will be back but only time will tell. I have found several other BB's that naki posts in.
