Ok nismo peeps, ive heard varied stories between the s13 and the s14 over which is better. As i understand the tale the s13 was great, replaced to be a more refined family car type deal as the s14, and the mistake was realized and thus the s15 is born.
So, which do you thing reigns?
Please consider:
1. looks
2. performance
3. in their U.S. counterparts ease of sr20de/t installation and other jspec conversions
thanks

Well it's all a matter of preference in looks category...just two for instances via Bomex (the only body kits I like for S13/S14's)
S13 hatchback (180SX in Japan)

S13 coupe (Silvia in Japan)

vs.
S14 (95-96) (Silvia in Japan)

S14 (97-98) (Silvia in Japan)

Now in terms of which is better for the SR20DET which is a 2.0 Liter Turbo engine that creates 202 HP, 217 HP or 247 HP depending upon the year...the S13 SR's are better to put into S13's b/c the S13 has been around longer and has more support and has more documentation to help you in doing the swap. S14 swap's are not as frequent b/c of the fact that they are a bit newer and the swap's are more expensive since the engines are newer and produce a bit more HP.
The S13's from 89-90 in the US were SOHC and only prodcued 140HP...so they are no match for the 91-98's that produced 155HP DOHC.
So bottom line...if you are on a budget...S13 w/S13 SR...but if you want to be a bit more original and have a better looking car IMHO...get an S14 and do the S14 SR swap.

the S14~!!! i know the S13 is a better chassis for drifting since its lighter and is better balanced. but i like the S14 for cause its a better daily driver in my opinion and you can make it look like a mini skyline. just that alone gets my vote.

S13 looks better and is better for drifting. I'll go with the S13.

Better for drifting eh? The S14 is setup pretty well too...52/48 split...so it's not far behind...
Personally the S13 can look good but it needs extensive bodywork and wheels to look the part. While the S14 can look good w/just wheels...IMHO

The S13 is fugly IMHO (at least in coupe form) while it's lighter- I like the S14's refinement- but it looks extremely dull- so the S15 is the only way I'd go- and I can get them here easily enough
