cbr1000 v 954

ready for a long explanation
my wifes best friends boyfriend just got an '04 cbr1000 with insurance money from the theft of his '02 zx9 :screwy:
in one review of the cbr1000 it rated it against the 954 and said the 1000 was "slower" but maybe it was "faster" but just didn't feel it.
wondering what you guys think. 954 is lighter at 370lbs but down by 10bhp.
i think i'm a better rider in the track sense

As with most Honda sportbikes, I think they gain muscle mass, not fat. Like the 03 600RR was heavier than the F4i, but handled better.
The 1000rr is definitely a track weapon, so you'd probably sacrifice trunk space and 2 up riding, haha. Your wife's gonna hate riding it in the back in that puny seat and hot exhaust. But the look of the bike is killer. So it depends which one you're comfortable with.
Personally, I think you're up for it. There's also ZX-10R and 05 Gixxer 1000 with trunk space, side exhausts, and more power than Blade.

no dude, i must have mislead you.
i'm not buying one. i guy i know through my wife has.
my misses hates the 954 seat compared to the old gixer so she would really hate the 1000. still in winter it could be a bonus.
this guy is more of a cafe racer.
"i've got the new fireblade" style of guy. never uses it fully and no track days

i'm quite happy to admit that mine is 0.46% smaller and much lighter but i think i can use it better.

ok funny end to story
went to the suzuki/honda dealer to check out what all the fuss is about the 'Busa. Saw the super blackbird(cbr1100XX?) for sale and a pretty good price. next to it was the cbr1000rr. started talking shit to the sales guy and wondered why he had second hand cbr1000's but no 954's
apparently they are having trouble getting 954's second hand because the new one isn't as appealing. i was offered $12k for mine and i only paid $15 18 months ago :screwy: :grinyes:
