headlight switch malfunction =

95 acheiva , when i turn on the head lights i get the parking lights scenirio,dash lights,etc. then i flick on the brights and the brights do appear. then i flick off the brights and the normal,low beam head lights appear. does it sound like a switch problem or what?? anyone else having this problem?? thanks =

Just got a 94 Achiva<SP> and I have what sounds like the same problem. The high beams do not stay on. I replaced one of these in another car I had. The turn signal switch is all one unit that goes inside of the column. Not sure what it looks liek on the olds but I will soon find out.

You may have a short in your multicontrole switch, causing contacts to touch what theyre not supposed to touch....
