Girls Cars?

Please don't bash me :banghead: . I really wanted an eclipse (like 97) but then I looked, and I only see girls driving them. I wouldn't be able to afford a turbo, so is this correct? I dont want people going... :loser:

The only people that will call an eclipse a girl car and make fun of you for it, are the ones that are jealous because you picked up their girlfriends with your "girl car". So in a sense, yes these are girl cars because all the girls want to be in it :iceslolan

meh, i went down to were all the local street "ricers" hang out (hondas, cavaliers, SATURNS???) and someone asked me what i was doing driving my sisters car around, i then proceeded to RAPE his honda and told him i sure was glad i borrowed my sis's car that night. lol, but basically, only time ive ever had someone say it was a girl car, and after racing me he wasn't sayin shit about anything, let alone saying my car was girly.

I think most girls view them as girls car cause some girls dirve them. And most guys that think of performance Mistus think either VR4 or Evo. But don't for a sec that kick your ass. My friend had a plymoth/dodge duster not a well known car but had a 5 speed, front wheel drive eclipse engine and damn that thing was fast. If you can't afforoad a turbo why not go junk yard turbo?

You may not be able to afford the turbo now BUT the nice thing (depending which block you got hopefully the 4G63) it's fairly easy to get the pieces slowly a little at a time until you have all the parts THEN turbo it and whup the shyt outta those loser wannabe civics! Anyone who says an eclipse is a girly car hasn't seen the full fury capable of the 4G63 6 bolt block unleashed!

So, you can upgrade a non turbo to a turbo and maintain the same reliablitiy?

gs and rs eclipses come with 420a engines, not the 4g63. you can turbo charge the 420a but your better off saving up and buying a gsx.

IMO the eclipse is not a girl car. Never has and never will be. Girls like whatever car that is new and looks fast. So i can put a number of cars in that category. Samething goes for tahoes/suburbans. Out of all the girls i've talked to, they say they like them because it makes them feel like they have power. Don't get me wrong tho. I see some girls in gst and gsx's rarely. Mainly its the guys with them. A girl won't care about performance. When they see the car, they go.....cute car. I want it. where as a guy would say....wheres the fricken horse power!?!? wheres the fricken turbo!?!?

Sorry I don't know much at all about the 420A I have a 1G frankenstien with the body of a '92 engine of a '94 (4G63 of course) and the tranny converted to the auto of a '96 (I AM slightly upset with that would have rather had the 5 speed but for $300 how ya gona complain right?)

I wish I could afford a gsx. I will be really lucky to have a gst.... or even have an eclipse.

Finding an Eclipse isn't hard just look for any of the following: Eclipse, Talon, Laser all are one in the same. And with a little bit of work you can bedage any one of them and put the others' badge on it so that it looks like the other ;) Besides look in the right spot and you can find them fairly cheap got mine for $300

Man just get a 1G. They hold more of the sleeper status. They are pretty hard to rice out, and the only people I see driving them are people who know the potential of the 4G63. The girls may not be attracted to them at first, but when you give them a ride and that Turbo AWD goes suck, squish, bang, boom, and their head jerks back they know you have a car to back up the size of your dick.

my car has only been called a "girl's" car once, it was by one of those scrawny white boys with long hair and wearing flip flops :screwy: plus he drives on old forest green altima which he recently ran over a curb and leaked tranny fluid all over the place, HAH. revenge.....

anyways though, all the girls, hell most of the people i know like my car, and its just a poopy RS, guess it just depends on how make ur car look which will get the girly comment, in my case, mine is all black :biggrin:

Haha, no one has told me it's a girl car yet though more girls than I can name have told me they like my new car (hubba hubba lol).

I can whup the shit out of my friend's Avenger and can drive well enough to beat most of the people who drive 4-cyls at my school (some dude with a Neon, and two kids with 99 Si's. One has intake + header, but is running that tiny factory exhaust so you can hear his engine just crying to be let loose and the power isn't being put out enough, but I can barely beat him. Those b16s are nasty vs a NT)

so that basically makes our cars better than half of the ones today. 2g's are still very popular for being 6-10 years old. i would take my eclipse over half of the brand new cars of today.

are you sure it's the tranny out of a 96? i didn't think you could use 2g trannies in a 1g car, or vice versa, no matter what the bolt pattern of the flywheel. i know for sure you can't use a 6-bolt and a 2g together, but i also thought that you couldn't use a 1g 7-bolt with a 2g 7-bolt.
you can put any 4g63 motor in any 4g63 eclipse/talon/laser, but i'm almost sure you have to use the correct style tranny to mate with the motor.

Ive only seen a couple chicks in Eclipse's, most of those are 3rd gens, though most of the guys i see have 2nd/1st gens. Girls mainly go for the newest/flashiest/sexiest car they can, while guys go for the most power, which can be found both in an eclipse, though girls gets more attention out of them since they can get away with wearing a tank top and mini skirt in the car and look good doing it ;)

I dont think that any of the DSMs are "chick" cars... in fact most of the people that i meet with other DSMs are guys. For the fact that they know the potential of them..... I stand alone in the land of DSMs

Yeah I'm finding out LOTS of things about that car. When I have the $ to go down there again and next time I'll be bringing it up here I'll get #'s off it and cross check. The guy said originally it was turbo no mouhnts for an interooler anywhere though... The guy said it was a stick converted to auto... No mounts for the clutch pedal under teh dash... Starting to sound fishy to you yet? THEN the guy said a simple valve job and she'd run. The engine doesn't even turn over the timing belt has a gouge all the way around about 1/4 an inch from the engine side edge. I think that the tensioner let go and the car prolly jumped time shoving a valve through a piston. I could be wrong but that's my guess. And everything else he says I think he lied about (Except the new sway bars and new exhaust and the R-32 taillight conversion THOSE are real ;) )

Man i went up to Kansas City this weekend and let me tell you! I seen a HOT ass blonde girl in a black 99' 2g. The car was nice but the driver was sexier! We was passing a college town (KU) and im guessing shes a college student. But she looked like one of those HOT ass blonde porno girls. DAMN!! =p-- but yeah i have noticed there are alot of girls taht drives an Eclipse... So that a plus for us guys because now i know girls are attracted to our 2gs Lol

Craziest thing i have seen is. I went to Showgirls City limits in Cali. Anyways it was a strip club i pull in with my friends ya they are mostly honda ownes and a WRX. i see a black eclipse with a FMIC im thinking hmm somebody at the strip club is a DSMer. Anyways we were chilling having a cig ready to go in. Then from the back door this hella hot stripper with a short skirt and jacket on gets in to that eclipse i was like HOLY SHIT a stripper DSMer? she is the only one i would waste 20 bucks on a lap dance for.
