it was opening night tonight at the local drag strip for friday night street racing. gates opened at 8, races started at 9. it was fucking packed. i watched 15 minutes, enough to spot the first person i wanted to race (04 srt-4). after hunting him down he declined. he said it would be a waist of gas for him to run aginst me. because he was in the 12's with a cold air intake (wtf?), 3 inch turbo back, fmic, bov, and coilovers. he'd never ran an ET. but he know it for sure! i didnt argue, no point. i just chat for a min with him and his friend and moved on.

i ended up talking to 3 diffrent people before giving up. everyone declined. i did talk to a guy runing a 99 convertable eclipse. 7bolt block with 6bolt head/intake/tb, evo16g, fmic. after talking with him i realised he got ripped off big time on his parts from one of the local shops. i was nice and didnt tell him that though. i didnt want to be "that guy". at 10pm there was 8 lines wide and 20-30 cars in each waiting to stage. to fucking packed and it was getting worse, the line when i lest was 50-60 deep just waiting to pay to get in. so i just took off.

2 things i learned tonight. people spend to much $ on things they dont understand. and next time i'll be there at 8pm and race untell 10 and get the fuck out.

I know what you mean man, last time I went to the track the lanes were so backed up that while we were in line to run we would get out, talk to some people, thebn get back in our cars and the line had barely moved up, lol. It was fun though,

i also know what you mean but, getting there a few minutes befor the track opens usally pays off.the sr-t 4 is no joke, netting an 8.5 in the 1/8 with slicks and bolt on mods is pretty nice for an allmost stock car.

Wow wouldn't it be nice to actually go to the track, and have everyone afraid to race you because of how legendary the eclipse is. Too bad my car wouldnt even beat the slowest car there....fuckin N/T. Oh well I will just have to go and cruise the strip instead of the track. (I don't know if anybody has noticed, but these cars are like magents to chicks). Haha, yeah. You know.

P.S. I bet you could have given that SRT-4 a run for his money, but in the end you know he is still driving a NEON and just laugh.

I used to get ~8 runs per night (6-10) before fast and furious came out. Since that movie, its out of control. I've seen up to 400-450 cars on a wednesday night. Unreal. Lucky if you get 2 runs on nights like that. Last year seemed a little better. F&F3 will probably pork it agian though. I decided last year that I wasnt even going to bother going if I couldnt leave the house by 2-3 in the afternoon. Only way to beat the ridiculous traffic. End up getting there between 4-5 but thats ok. I'll get some food while I wait. Nice being first in the tech lines too. By 8pm it takes an hour to get through tech...

I'm getting stressed out just thinking about going to the track.
