Hi
I have a 94 Crown Vic PI with 190,000 miles. Recently I noticed a bearing "squeel" type of noise. I had new bearings put in the alternator. That took care of some of the noise but I still hear a bearing noise. From the side of the engine it is coming from I would guess that it has to be the belt tensioner. I'm assuming that it must have a bearing in it. Anyone have any words of wisdom?
thanks
Tom C.

There is an idler and tensioner pully on the car. You can replace the bearings separately or buy the pulleys and replace the entire pulley. If the tensioner has never been changed, I would recommend replacing the entire tensioner assembly. :2cents: You have to remove the tensioner to replace the pulley or bearing anyway. Bearings are a press/drive out and in.

Thanks Way2old
I think I will do as suggested and replace everything. Preventive maintenance pays off.
thanks again
