Calling Police Because of A Fight

I just wanted to see what the split on opinions was, because of that other thread

I've gotten beat up pretty bad before, got hit with a bat, couldnt lay on my back for a week, but i'd never even consider calling the police. Where i come from a fight is something that you deal with yourself, if you get beat up, you come back and deal with the people, you dont call the police, thats like running to your mommy. But different areas and people, deal with things differently

Wondering how many people agree/disagree with this

It depends why the fight started. You shouldn't have to fight someone you did not provoke and don't want to fight.

You will have also wished you had called the police when you find out it will cost you thousands to fix any damage done in the fight.

I personly would never call the police because of a fight. If someone can kick my ass im just going to learn from the incident and be more prepared for the next time i get in a fight and i know how u must of felt with the whole bat thing i got hit in the back of the head in a fight with one last yr lol

Depends on the fight. If it's a bar fight over a girl or spilled beer, fight and have a drink after.

If it a serious affair with guns and knives, where someone's trying to kill you for no reason, you might want to call in a little "backup". :)

Second of all, this thread is too general. Depends on the fight. ALl the fights I got in, I showed them a thing or two. Just 'cause ur big, doens;t mean you can fight. I practiced martail arts about 3 hours everyday for 2-3 years and I worked out. I knew a thing or two, but I didn;t fight them at first. First we talked.

Like I said in the other thread, I talked to the guy, after awhile everything was forgotten till we ran into each other at a party and he brought it up again. Got pissed, I stay cooled...no ploice were called and he left me alone from then on. Unless the fight is a lot more than fists or the guy you're fighting is really out of it ike he's about to fight u with a broken bottle, (and any other realted case) then no need for the police.

true about the there might not be a next time. I wasnt thinking bout a gun or Knife i in that case would call for some help.

Someone hit you with a bat - thats a class A felony. That person needs to be put away because he's probably going to start wacking a few others with that bat. Call the police. From time to time, they can actually do something good.

It depends on the situation...most cases, I'd deal with it myself and not get the po9 involved...it all depends on the situation I guess

When i was younger i used to get beat up by 4/5 kids at a time, that's when i first moved to where i was, i never told anyone though. I kept it inside and got bigger than them, thing is when i got bigger, no one wanted to mess with me anymore. Not really a good revenge but it got them to leave me alone. I haven't been in a real fight in...3 years, i wont lay a hand on anyone anymore for any reason, although sometimes i feel like it, i dont believe in fighting to solve problems, i'll always try and reason with someone first, if i have to though, i'll fight. And as for calling the cops, i wouldn't.

Only happened once (got beat up) But it was semi deserved.

I agree gotti, that when its a personal thing that actually has something to do with something, then you just whoop em and handle your biz. But if its really not anything that concerns you and you aren't interested in fighting them, then let the police know whats up. It looks good to have a file showing that you were concerned there might be more issues.

But dude... 2 of you got hit with bats!? Hell nah. If somebody hit me with a bat, I would definitely call the police. And if they hit you with a bat, in the head... that could be considered attempted murder. Anybody crazy enough to hit someone in the head with a bat does not need to be roaming around in a sane society. Then if the police thing doesn't work, then I would deal with it on my own.

yea but sometimes calling the police has its downfalls too,if anyone here is from baltimore,youve probly heard about stop snitching,and trust me if youve seen that video you will never wanna snitch.i know this isnt really the same snitching they mean,but still if its the wrong people you never know

For me it depends. If I deserve to be in the fight and the person(s) don't bring any weapons I see no reason to call the police unless it got really really out of hand. But if I don't deserve it at all like it's just some guy that comes up to me and just starts wailin' on me I'd consider it, it would realy depend of the circumstances, especially since my town does have any cops...we rely on county.

reason i didnt call is because i kicked his ass the next day when he was all alone. I was brought up to handle my own and not get others involved. I dont like the police it just gets to bad after that they will just fuck you up worse the next time (speaking from exsperience). When i got hit with the bat, i got jumped by like 10 guys cause they tried robbing me of some weed when i was alone. i found out where they lived and hung out, got some phone numbers from a girl i knew that was dealing with one of them, and i hit them back very, very hard with my people. I personally fucked up the little bitch that hit me with the bat, he was like 23 and he was shorter than me. It turned out they were Serbs, they knew a couple Serbs that i knew and when they found out they were fukin with east euros, they deaded the beef cause they think slavs should stick together lol

I've seen alot of times people fight and be friends after... but it depends on the situation.

Anyway i see no need to have the police involved, its more trouble than its worth.

I personally don't believe it's still called a fight when weapons are used. That's just being a pussy. Unless your one guy facing 10...then drop the bat and take it like a man. If I had like 10 guys come after me with guns and knives wanting my blood. I'd first try and tell them to knock the bullshit and come at me clean or get the cops involved.

I agree... if a person comes at me with a weapon and i dont have one, i'm gunna talk shit about him being a pussy needing that weapon until he drops it. But if he uses that weapon, i wont call the cops, i'll catch him later and i'll enjoy seeing him feel the pain i felt when he used it on me plus some... I wouldnt feel satisfied if he got away with something stupid like probation

I agree with gotti talk shit until they drop it its worked for me a few times. Knives really dont scare me ive been in a knife fight once before and only got cut on my left triecep (sp). Guns are diff. but i couldnt let some one get a slap on the wrist when i could catch them later and they feel the way i felt.

If someone steals my lunch at work, i call my mommy. If they do it twice i call the police.

Yea just pick them off one by one. As if each one of them had an "Accident" as they realize there each getting taken out one by one theyl probably back off. If they regroup then it might be a bigger issue.

Personally...i dont call the cops just because of a fight. If you get your ass kicked...you live to fight another day (that means u get even).

It also depends on wat type of fight...like if you get jumped by like 6 guys with bats. Also by calling the cops..u might just put more gas into the fire.

Argh it dident vote but i wanted oh well, Well in the case where the are armed and your not, i would of called the damn police because if i dident have a knife or gun on me thats what i would do. A real fight is with fists and shit. Thats a little more of a fight i would call it assualt. Plus you get money out of lawsuits.
