Its that time again to have the timing belt replaced, total cost quoted by many mechanics os 400-600 dollars. I am not very smart with cars, i know how to do the basics, and always take it to a shop for major repairs. I was told that the car needs a new water pump, tensioner, belt, and something else-cant remember- and labor would be close to 300 dollars. Do all of these parts need to be changed and not just the belt??

again? when was the last time you had it changed?

the +98 Isuzu are good for 100k before the belt (and yes, all of the other stuff you mentioned) should be changed.

I was in the middle of typing the same question when my ISP decided I didn't need to be connected to the internet for an hour or so

For the 3.2/3.5L Leave it alone until:
1) You hit 125K+ miles, or about 7+yrs
2) Your water pump starts to leak coolant
3) Your hydraulic timing belt tensioner gives out (makes a knocking sound).

93000 is too early to do a T-belt. MANY people have changed them out around there only to find they looked like new.

G/luck
