New 944 owner

hello everyone. i recently bought a 1983 944 thats in need of some TLC. so i decided i would start looking around for a forum to join for when i get stumped and i found this place. ive never messed with a porsche before, but i have restored a few classic american cars.

the first problem with my new baby is the wiring harness. supposedly there was a short rooting from the cigarette lighter?!?!

anyway, i pick it up this weekend and ill have a better idea of what it needs.
