Backfiring/Sputtering

When i boost past 12 psi a couple of times my car has a tendency to sputter/ backfire and i can smell raw fuel, but after those couple of times its fine and boost 15 with no problem. Today i removed my plugs and distributor cap and im replacing the plugs along with the distributor cap that had 2 broke electro tips. I have new plug wires already ... im hoping by replacing this it will solve the problem. Do any of you guys know what might be causing this ??

It sounds to me like you are running very rich.
Bad plugs/ignition would make that worse.

I would get new plugs, wires, cap and rotor.

Well i found the problem my distributor cap had 2 busted metal tongs/fingers whatever you want to call them. so i replaced that and the car is running fine again!
