Hey guys. Over the past 2 months I've been researching what I was gonna do with my 79Z. It appears I've come to the point were I walk the walk, but I wanted a final blessing on the setup I'm gonna do. Wanted it to still be a daily driver, even if I was pushin it a bit.
These were the vortec heads kit from scoggin-dickey I intend on buying.
It comes ready to bolt on, no maching required. It also comes with the Performer intake.

For camshaft I was looking at the xe274. Don't know much about cams, but it kept being suggested for the vortec heads.
And a Hughes 2500 stall converter.
As for a carburetor I was looking at the EDL-1406 600cfm. or the AVS series.
What do you guys think? Any suggestions on this setup or do you guys forsee any problems i might run into. thanks for the help.

my 2 cents:
check everything over before you install it. even the head's deck regardless.
oh, probably should have put this in the performance forum too?

eh.. as far as putting this in the performance section... its not a big deal, there are likely to be more views and replies if its kept on the front page anyway.
*as far as the mods go, just make sure you really do your homework on the matter.. i too dont know much about camshafts or heads, but before i would install these items on my car i would make sure i consulted someone who did know, to make sure i got the right parts and setup
