hey i have a 92 chevy caprice and when i put on the turn signal it goes on the fritz it will go from fast to slow to super fast to real slow, and they both do it and all of the bulbs are working. also the dash lights seem kind of dim, but i dont know if thats just how the car is made.
any help would be greatly appreciated, thanks

Hi

Just a guess. Would it be a bad flasher module/fuse?

Flasher seems to to be easiest to check . . . when you refer to the dash lights are you saying the turn signal lights are dim or are you saying the dash lights when the headlights/park lights are on are dim? If it is the latter, check the reastat on the light switch to see if the dash lights are all the way on bright (without turning on dome light)., It could be you may not have a good ground to the dash panel which can account for the fast/ slow turn signal.

If it is still clicking, you can follow the sound under the dash - the book sometimes lies where the flasher is located (on some it is on either side of the steering column or under the glove compartment) - but for these cars they are in the fuse panel - there will be two - one for the turn signal and one for the caution/hazard lights. The one that clicks for the turn signal is the one you want . . . if it doesn't click turn on the hazard lights then grab the one that doesn't click - had to find many using this type of trial and error . . . :shakehead

I have a 92 caprice of my own. Does it do the messed up flashing action when you turn the emergency flashers on?
