Spark Plug question...

Okay, The other day, i started my car up, i herd a loud clicking noise, i figured it was just the lifters, because it was cold or w/e. Well, i drove my car to work. And for some reason, my car felt like it was running the best it ever ran. Faster, smoother everything...
Well i come to find out, after work, i popped my hood, cause i herd the clicking again, and It was 1 of the spark plugs, it was loose enough to were i could, turn it with my hand.
i tighted it back up, and my car started running sluggish....what the hell is the problem here... the spark blugs are (BOSH double platinum)

Platinum is your problem. No really Do you have the right gaps?

see im not sure, my friend told me about checking the gaps, but the thing is, if my plug was that loose, why would it have made it run better?

I'm not sure, but Drew is right, get rid of the platinum plugs and you're car will run better than it has in awhile. Look into ngk's. If you up the psi I think it's 1000aaq that recommends 7es plugs. Either way, buy non-platinum plugs and gap them correctly, and your car will run better.

The platinum thing and gap size etc depends on wether the car is turbo or NT. There is no mention of this in the original post, as usual.

dude, this is going to sound stupid, but im new to my eclipse, only had it for about 5 months, and its the only car i've ever worked on...so wtf is psi and how do i up it, im running a n/t :[

and sorry, i forgot to list the specs

if your car is not a turbo (rs/gs = no turbo) (gst/gsx = turbo) then you dont have to worry about psi because non-turbo cars dont have psi to worry about.

Psi refers to the pressure a given turbo is exerting. Uh, it doesn't apply to an n/t :) Platinums are fine for an n/t, but pull your plugs and check the gapping. Again, 1000aaq will have the stats, I believe. I know it's larger for n/t guys, and I'm tempted to say it's in the 40's, but check out http://members.shaw.ca/costall/1000Q/answers-terms.htm or a Haynes manual to get the correct number.
