i was driving to school today going about 30 and put my clutch down to shift into 3rd when all of a sudden, the whole car jolted and it felt like i hit a dog or something. i knew there was nothing in the road and even checked my mirrors to make sure i was right. (never made it to 3rd yet, car in nuetral). after i realized tehre was nothing behind me, i tried to put my clutch down and it felt extremely stiff and almost like it was grinding something. also, i couldnt get my car into any gear. so i pull over and turn off the car and look under it to find a pool of hydraulic fluid comind from somehwere around the slave cylinder. so, now that the car wont start, i push it into a parking lot and call a tow truck. when they get my car to the shop, the guy says my front axle may be broken, my clutch is fried, and my transmission took a shit, but they cant tell for sure until they take everything apart (doing that tomarrow). now, i go to this shop all the time and know the guys there quite well, so i know they arent trying to screw me. im just trying to figue out how everything fucked itsself at once or if there is any other possible thing that could be wrong.
help please! :shakehead

CRANKWALK

lol jk.

it sounds like you probably broke something in your trans. did the car push easy or did it feel like it was stuck in gear?

well, like i said, i hadnt gotten it into 3rd yet, so it was still in nuetral, but when i got out to push it, it moved really easy. no grinding sound, didnt feel like anything was rubbing. what exactly is crankwalk?

lol crankwalk is thrust bearing failure. its really uncommon but its what all the honda boys use to diss our cars. anytime anything happens they think its crankwalk and that the motor is shot.

but yea it sounds like maybe you shattered your clutch or something. the clutch has got to be jammed somehow if the motor wont crank but the wheels roll ok. did it shift gears okay after it was turned off?

nope, couldnt get it into any gear. i tried every one including reverse. when i was pushing the clutch down it almost didnt feel like it was engaging, but when the boys got it into the shop they got it started, so it must have engaged at least that time.

No offense but how could you possibly own an eclipse and not know what crankwalk is????

ive only had it for a couple months. and i didnt really look into everything about it since it was only 2200 bucks. i just made sure it raqn, had a good clutch and felt like it ran strong. i figured a 2200 dollar eclipse that was in as good of shape as mine is was worth it.
