i have an '01 r/t and the problem started off with the low beams not coming on at all. the highbeams would work but the low beams wouldnt. after the highs were on for about 5 mins then the lows would start working again. then after a week when i had the low beams on for about 20 mins or so i began to smell something burning and the highbeams would come on by themselves and i couldnt turn them off. i could see the lowbeams switching on and off but the highs would just stay on. after the lights were off for long enough to let everything cool down everything would start workin normal until they started to overheat again. does anybody have any idea what the problem could be and what i have to do to fix it? any help would be appreciated.

Something like that i would let the dealership deal with. if it is still under worr, i would not toutch it because you will void your worr. if not i still let them deal with that, i dont think you should try to fix it beacuse if its more and you try something, you could start a fire, but thats just me.

Frankie I have the same problem!!!!!! I will tell you now, if your lowbeam are still working... they wont for long.... mine keeps burning out the multifunction switch..... I have to find time to do a wire search, to see if there is a short.....

i think i found my problem..maybe. it seems to only happen when i have my fog lights on. i got into an accident and the front bumper was replaced but when they guy put the foglight back in, he broke the mounting bracket. so now the light shacks all over the place when i hit bumps. i think it may be shorting something out. that probably doesnt help with your problem though.

Frankie, I am glad you have found your problem, I have yet to even start looking for mine, I have to find a free weekend so I can tear everything apart. I know this morning tho the lowbeams worked!!! Fo figure. I just hope I dont need to use the headlight much more, because its about 70.00 for the multifunction switch from autozone.
