Ok guys, I replaced the O2 sensor and pulled the battery cable for 30 seconds and hooked it all back up and the service engine soon light is still on. I heard you have to cycle the engine so many times before it will clear itself, is there any truth to this, should I take it back to autozone and have it checked again......Thanks in advance

Take it back and have it scanned again, if there is nothing wrong they can reset the computer for you and turn out the CEL.

Ya, unless you have a really old car, you can't just take the batt. off to clear the codes. You most likely have a OBDII in your car, which requires you to have it scanned and cleared by the tool only! Hope that helps...Good Luck!

no OBDII can be cleared by d/c the battery

Justin, what was it that you were trying to say? Do you agree that the OBDII can not be cleared or are you saying that it can be cleared by D/C the Batt?

OBDII codes can be cleared by d/c the battery....most of them anyways. Some stay on, such as a misfire, or other important codes, but if d/c the battery, it should clear an o2 code. You have to leave it off for more than 30 sec, try a few min.
Also the problem may not even have been fixed. Have it scanned and then have them clear it, or d/c the battery for a few min and see if it comes back.

Did you fill the gas tank really full? That will set the service engine light on. Do over fill the gas tank, when the pump stops, stop at there.I heard this from a Vetronix rep that my father knows. My grandma had the service engine light and the oxygen sensors were replaced until found she topped of the gas
