Just one of those days

Have you ever had one of those days where nothing seems to go right and you get so frustrated? Thats how I feel today. I start working on my 1/6, which Im not really interested in, and I broke off a chunck of foam by accident. And my jig is driving me nuts because the chassis keeps moving around. Then I go to work on another model and i break the windsheild frame. Right now I just went down to work on my '37 and I immediately got frustrated because I had to do some putty work.

One of those days where the littlest things set you off and it just snowballs. Like the fact that my welding helmet is in primer and I need yellow acrylic...which I thought I had, but I dont.

Start collecting stamps. Or play chess. Anything that doesn´t include tools, stuff that can break e.t.c. ( But you of course, probably had chopped and flamed the pieces on the board ;) )

Your not the only one who's had stuff happen to their models today. I was working on my torino, after having it sit around for a few weeks, and BAM! The hood lands in some glue and now I have to strip it and repaint it which is going to set this back a good 2+ weeks. I was so hoping on being able to take some pictures of it tonight.

Just call it a day and go to bed. That's the only sure fire way to end a day like that.:bricks1:

Well, as Willimo says, I make everything overcomplicated, and then make it more complicated. That was happening with my 1/6. I was trying to make wire forms to try to set foam over...huge pain if you have ever attempted it. So I looked at some hot rods, and decided to just stack the fenders instead of wire forms. And just use would templates for the wheel wells.

So...I guess it was just one of those span of hours. All better now!

Hmm.. Tell me about having bad days. I tried to use a resin kit for a Skyline, but I just ended up getting frustrated with it, and broke the hood vent.

Still, that's what I get for being a little too clever..!! I've only built two models and this was my third build, just what was I thinking..!!

I'm sure your bad day will go away. Mine did, i've started a porsche and I've just laid down a VERY good paint job.. My best to date in fact.. Sometimes you need bad days, it then makes you sit back and think - Hmm, time to take it easy and make a simple kit to ease the frustrations.

We all have those days mate so your not on ya own!!

Best just to walk away.....modelling is meant to be enjoyed and if its not happening at the time.....leave it untill you feel the time is right to start again.

Totally agree with P-man. When I have one of those days, I'll just put the model aside, and not continue building it until I felt like it again. There's no point of expressing your anger to the model and regret about it afterwards. :grinyes:
