1994 Lesabre under moderate to heavy acceleration gives a pinging noise , which goes away when I ease up on the gas. I dont have any check engine light. Could the Knock sensor be faulty? and where is it?
Thanks

The knock sensor only detects pinging, not causes it. But....
Check your owner's manual for the correct octane grade of gas that should be used for this year. See if it mentions anything about a feature of using different grades of gas.
Around this year, the engine was redesigned (like maybe a higher compression ratio). A new feature was put into these models to give the ability to run either low octane regular gas or a higher octane premium gas. The computer has logic which adjusts engine timing (I suspect based on the knock sensor) depending on the grade of gas used.
On your 1994 BUICK LESABRE, the KNOCK SENSOR is:
UNDER HOOD, PASSENGER SIDE, FRONT ENGINE AREA, BELOW EXHAUST MANIFOLD, MOUNTED IN ENGINE BLOCK
