86 Trooper windshield gasket - Rust, leaks

Hi, gang!
Q: Is the windshield easy to R&R? it needs rust repair across the bottom of that zone.
I just bought this '86 Isuzu Trooper, and although it is nice almost everywhere else, it has a serious leak onto the front carpet. There is evidence of salt-water induced rust across the bottom of the windshield's rubber strip, almost hidden, but there nonetheless. The previous owners I was told lived on a small island surrounded by salt-water. It leaks most when I am on the freeway in a downpour. When stopped, even in a downpour, it doesn't seem to leak much or at all. Downpours are hard to find, even in the NW. I assume the air pressure of freeway speeds is forcing the rain between the weatherstrip and the body through the rusty zone. I think it then leaks in onto the sound insulation under the dash, then migrates over to the far right and far left sides and drips down onto the carpet near the driver's and passenger's shoes. It also runs down the side panels where the small speakers are mounted in front of the doors. So, is this uncommon, and is the window easy to remove and replace? What tools would be used for R&R? Should I just let a body shop handle this?

I will probably take it to a body shop, as the rust I think is all the way through closer to the middle across the bottom. It needs serious salvation, even though the rest of the body looks fine. There is some significant rust on the welded on trailer hitch, but that is mild steel that appears to have never been coated with anything. I could use that rust-stopping stuff there, for sure!
