Injured while test driving a G6 GT

Words can not express how VERY disappointed I am with the G6. I took a test drive of a G6 GT about 2 weeks ago. It had 5 miles on the odometer. When I went to adjust the seat the power height adjustment seemed sort of loud so I asked my salesperson if that was normal (this was my first experience with a G6). She reassured me that it was normal. Too bad hindsight is 20/20 - I should have immediately gotten out & demanded a different test vehicle. Turns out the sound of the power height adjuster was NOT normal (and my salesperson should have known that) - it broke as I was driving the car. This dropped me down to the floor & injured my back. I am only about 105 lbs & the car was brand new, so this definitely should NOT have happened. My back was very sore for about 5 days - spent plenty of time at my chiropractor or on my couch with an ice pack. I still have some inflammation & pain & my back feels weak when I am not supporting it with a chair back. I continue to see my chiropractor every 2 days. My bills are really starting to add up. I've spoken to the dealership in Farmington Hills Michigan to get them to pay my medical bills. They turned it in to their insurance company (and we all know how often insurance companies actually pay out claims). We'll see what happens. Either way, I will not purchase a G6. I've been a loyal Pontiac customer for 11 years now, but no more. If they don't care about me as a customer, why should I ever consider caring about them enough to buy their cars?

i got to admit u got a bad one. and i agree that the dealer should make it right but don;t blame it on pontiac. as far as you being a loyal pontiac owner for 11 years if that is true why do you list a masda as your curent driver. that don't sound like a loyal pontiac person to me. now as far as the broken seat adjuster goes that was built by a subcontractor most likely. i would think that you should be pissed at the dealer not pontiac, yes they are resposible for the seat adjuster, but the dealer is the one you are dealing with. call detroit fuck the dealer, he's not going to do anything to help. i worked for the factory in mass. in the 70's and 80's. as repair it was almost a requirement of the job if you lived within 25 miles from the plant to take a car home once a week. we had all sorts of things fail on us, fan belts, radiator hoses, tires, but remember these are parts made by other companys. i feel for you and your pain put don't be so down on pontiac, look at this as a learning experience. move on. the dealer should make good on any medical bills, if they dont go to corporate, and bitch at them.

Fiero,
Thanks for your comment. Yes, I have moved on. That's why my profile shows a Mazda 6 as my current driver - that's what I purchased after my horrid experience with this G6. I was a loyal Pontiac owner for 11 years. That era is over (at least for now). I'll be in contact with corporate soon to try to get my medical bills covered. That still doesn't mean that I can't be down on Pontiac. Yes, a supplier did build that seat. But Pontiac chose to put it in their car. If the supplier's products weren't reliable, then Pontiac should have chosen more wisely.

I hope for your sake you never get in a real accident! My son survived an horrific crash in a 2004 grand Am in which he was the pinball in a 20 car pile up on I 95. My thoughts were thank good he wasn't driving a Mazda I would have been burying him! Hope you never fall off a bar stool! That is the funniest story I've read on the net in quite some time
