How to Bring The Shine Back

My 94 Geo Prism. This car I believe hasn't been waxed in quite a long time. The car no longer shines. When it rains the water just sits on the car. It doesn't even bead up. I tryed Black Magic wax didn't work at all. I was wondering what would be the best wax to use for this.

Wax doesn't really do any thing for shine, it more protects the shine. Without seeing the paint it's hard to pin point the process or chemicals you should use.

General advice
Wash the car will good car wash soap
Follow that by a good drying
Then perform a clay bar treatment(can be found in most parts stores)
After that comes the fun part. Usually Meguiars or Mothers multi step application work well. Polish or cleaner first, Glaze next, and finally wax. There is paint sealant which is far better than wax in it's protection and longevity. The best waxes only last a few months where sealer can lost months.

The reason I suggested meguiars or mothers is it's the most common thing to be found in a store. Pro. supplies usually aren't sold over the counter to the public, either order from the internet or a local supplier.

unfortunitly that won't do anything. If you paint is flat (no shine) most likly it is nonrevivable. You might be able to fix it up with a buffer and some oxidation treatment, but most likely it won't be fixable. Best bet is to say "well its a GEO, a piece of crap, and I'll drive it till it breaks"

Akira - I'd also recommend that you use the meguairs 3 step process...it will take some elbow grease but your car is not that big...

Take your time, put some effort into it and you will be rewarded.....

Personally, if you like the car , give it a shot and see.....I wouldn't write it off just yet....

I think it's sad that someone on this board just refers to your car as a GEO piece of crap.......real nice....

Dont listen to the negative comment posted above. Pride in your car is a great thing to have, no matter what you own. To really rejuvenate your paint you should read this article, it will guide you through what products and techniques will really help to being back the shine to your vehicle.
