Thats right. Stoped at a set of lights today, and what drives past. A Toyota Echo, with plain Steel wheels, and absolutly no suspension travel left, It must have been almost riding on the bump stops. The really crazy thing is the car hasnt been on sale in NZ for all that long, and they will all still be under warrenty. (not to mention the number of JDM imports to choose from instead). I didnt believe it when I saw it, and did a real double take,
I mean Why? Its an Echo for gods sake!

I don't think I get what "Boned out" means. Is it souped up, or worn out? On an ECHO, either is surprising.

Ahh, sorry cultural diffrences. IT means it lowered about as far is it can go. Also sometimes means its running on Cut springs.

I have followed some of these cars around town and i'm sure the driver needs a back brace !!! :D :D ....they bounce over the smallest of bumps....HAHAHA
Read the other day how this car went in for its WOF and when they jacked the wheels up the springs fell out !!!!
Moppie.....have you noticed this other great trend.
That is to have your drivers seat that low you cant see out !!!.
All you see from a side on view is a base ball cap on backwards and if your lucky a set of eyes looking out through the steering wheel from the front :D :D :D
These guys must have rubber necks !!!
LMAO everytime i see one :D :D

I dont get it aye, They push the seat back as far as it will go, and then lower the back as far as it will go, all so they can lie back and drive. How the hell are you ment to control a car if you have to reach for the steering wheel, and the pedals, lety alone see where your going. I laugh at them, openly, so they can see me, (what are they going to do try, and chase me?). There normaly in old Preludes, or Twincarbed 1500 Civics, or if your in south auckland its lowered 1800 Gallants, with VR4 body kits, or 2.0L n/a skylines, with GTs-T body kits.
Iv actualy seen cars parked on the side of the road after hitting a large bump, and losing a spring that was cut way to short, (I actualy new someone who lost a spring, so he just took the other 3 out, and rode around on the bumpstops.)
Its all so sad, and provide nothing more than dangerous humor for the more educated. :licker:

My god what will they think of next ???
I can see it now..."We dont need these springs, we can go a lot faster with that extra weight gone !!!" :D

Eventually they'll have the brilliant idea of making a urethane plate for the underside of the car so it can just slide along on the pavement. ;)

What is the best way to improve the handling on your car.
Anti-Sway bars?
Wider tires?
Stiffer suspension?
Lowered suspension?
Gas shocks?
And what would adjustable gas-filled rally shocks do to a family car?

Anti-Sway bars? Go check out Texans Article here http://www.automotiveforums.com/vbulletin/showthread.php?s=&threadid=2008
Wider tires? well it means more Grip, which is good thing, but to wide can interfer with steering action.
Stiffer suspension? Reduces body roll, and helps control weight transfer
Lowered suspension? see above, but you can go too low
Gas shocks? Well the idea is they react better than oil filled shocks, and some are adjustable.
And what would adjustable gas-filled rally shocks do to a family car? well they will be very hard, but theres very little chance of over heating them on a road car. However you need to check how high they are, as most rally cars are actucaly raised a little, and suspension travel increased to deal with rough roads.
