Where can you find a chevy caprice repair manual on cd-rom?? They arent anywhere on the net that I've found, and two auto part stores I checked at did not have our make of cars in cd-rom either. Do they exist?!? if they do- where?

Darn... guess there isn't one. Maybe I should scan some caprice manuals, buy the rights, and capitialize! :ylsuper:

I've seen them on ebay before. Even a complete parts catalog. Have you tried asking this on the 9C1 email list over at yahoogroups.com?

I know you said you checked the internet, but did you look at eBay? I've purchased CD-ROM versions of repair manuals for some of my vehicles there. There are some sellers who specialize in the sales of these and all you have to do is find one through one of their sales. If I find one when I visit eBay, I'll post the info here, if you don't find one in the meantime.
EDIT: My computer must be acting up because I did not see CD'S post before my post about checking eBay for the repair manual. It only appeared after I posted and the site returned me to the page.

hmmm... I checked ebay like you guys said, although I came up empty handed. Maybe they are not selling them on ebay at the present moment or something?? I havent checked or asked on the 9C1 forum yet. I have a difficult time using the 9c1 forum, so I usaully come here. I'll search over there and post my results back over here though. Thanks.

nope, I didn't turn up with any information over at the 9c1 group. :headshake: When I searched for 'manual' I got a ton of results that didn't even pertain to service manuals, and all the other keywords I tryed didn't even come up with any results at all(cdrom manual, cd manual, cd-rom manual... etc). Oh well, maybe I get a copy from somebody out there in exchange for some dough? please  :worshippy:

The trick with eBay sometimes is to be in the right place at the right time. You should check back every few days or so and see if there are any new items. Most auctions are 1 day, 3 day,7 day, and 10 day. I have seen manuals in a one and 3 day auction, so there can be quite a turnover in items. I'm not sure but I think there is an option for registered users of eBay where they can have email notifications when certain items are put up for auction in catergories you are interested in. I have never used this option, but I think use enter certain keywords and when the seller uses those words in their listing, an email is sent to you to notify you of the listing. Maybe someone who posts here is more familiar with this feature and can confirm this or give more info.

Thanks for all the info fella's. I went on the 9C1 forum and posted like Smalley suggested and got some info. I ended up breaking down and getting a Helm's manual... It includes 3000 pages of information! I figured that even if I did find the CD-ROM manual-- that it prabably isn't as detailed as the Helms manual. And besides, the Helms manual is actually written by General Motors whom manufactured the car anyway, which is a better source to go with. Thanks again.
