8V or 16V

Hi, can somebody tell me how can i know if my 1987 Volkswagen GTI is a 8v or 16V???
I just bought it, and i dont have the owners manual, or it doesn't have any tags or anything, so i really wonder, due that the parts make a big diference.

Should be a 16v if its a gti.

It can be an 8v or 16v. Open the hood it will say 16v on the intake manifold if it is a 16v
