Viper for breakfast!!!

Well i just finnished moding my car last week and since then I've been iching to race someone. Well today was the day. I sit at a red light and sudenly i hear this engine roar. I loo to my right and I see this Viper RT/10 puling beside me. So I look at him we make eye contact and i rev my engine. He is like what the heck thinking that I must be joking but I keep reving my engine so he is like ok lets do it. I dial up my turbo to 28 psi and air and fuel mixture controler so I meak sure i am not running lean.

And green. He has a very good launch chirping his tires very little and he jumps ahead of me by about a car lenght. but i get to about 4000rpm and my turbo kicks in and I start caching up in second I already am passing him by third he is gone. At the next stop light he puls beside me and the look on his face is priceless. he starts yeling lets do it again and i'll smoke you and I just smiled at him and made a left turn and left him in agony.


Mods: 4000$ worth of engine reinforcement, garret turbo, apex-i boost controller, apex-i fuel/air mixture controller,short headers, borla staight trough exaust. 17in Pirelli P0 tires american racing 6 spoke aloy wheels.

What kind of car do you have? what do you drive, a f-1 car? This story sounds highly unlikely, what are the chances you would end up next to a dodge viper, right next to each other at a stop light with an open road ahead? not to mention smoke him.

Its not that unlikely... I have pulled up to a few vipers with open road ahead of me, I just cant beat them

:rolleyes: i gotta wave the extra-large BS flag on this one, dude... i highly doubt this one. Hell, just compare the COST of the 2 cars....... (even afer mods). If it happened, he sucked as a driver.

I smoked a viper in my porsche also... but this guy didn't know how to drive , he were burning out at the light trying to launch while i already shifted to 2nd... If he knew how to drive i doubt if i could beat him...

vipers are 13 second cars so in all respect they're slow for what they are which is too heavy

i hate to tell you this, but you are sadly misinformed. a stock viper with the stock street tires will run a low 12 at well over 110 mph...that's far from 13's.
i have seen some excellent driver's push a viper into the 11's on street tires, and a viper with slicks will run mid 11's all day.
i am pretty sure most of the other people on this forum would back those numbers up as well.

well, the 11 second passes are with wicked driver's yes, but my dad drove HIS viper to a 12.20 @ 117 mph. that was a GTS coupe, and we ended up selling it to buy his hemi GTX back. but he isn't an amazing professional, and i am pretty sure i could have pulled a 12 second pass off in it too.
and i don't think you have to be that rich...vipers go for 60-70k canadian right now, that's actually pretty cheap in retrospect to some of the other cars you guys talk about (skyline, etc)

Erm... NSX i think his reffering to canadian dollars , and they are worth a bit less then american ( i mean one canadian dollar is less than one american , not any canada vs US war , because in this case i'd be representin' canada anyway)

Car & Driver tested the Hennessy 800TT Venom and they got it into the High 9's in the 1/4 mile

if the mods are real then i really dont doubt it. did u read the original post?!? 28 psi?!? the viper would still win on say a freeway simply due to higher top speed, but were talking a low-mid speed race of a viper vs. a much ligther car pushing 28psi im betting neutrinos car has a hell of a better power to weight ratio then a viper.

the viper i would have to scan pics and the gtx also, as well, i don't have pics of the talon because we just got it but i can get some soon.

a camaro ss is not faster than a viper, and a supra isn't faster than much unless you mod it out.

yeah, i know that's not cheap if your a kid but for an adult 50k american isn't all that much for one of the top american sports cars around.

O my gosh this thread really picked up. I am sorry to say it was all BS. I hpe you guys don't hate me, but if you look at the date of the first post is april 1. I just could not stop myself from lying my a@# off. Thanks to you all guys that belived me though. And the mod list is not quite false becuse I have those mods already planed as soon as I finish college wich is very soon. So i already did my research and I know all the parts I need to get(the ones I listed) and I also found a local place to do them.
So what do you think with those mods will I get even a small shot at a viper?

Has any one heard of anything new on the whole Hennessy deal? I mean there was alot of talk on the Viper/Vette boards about him ripping people off (of like 100,000+ dollars too:eek: ) but I haven't heard anything else about it...

This site (http://kickass.at/gtrcentral) has the most/best videos I've found in a long time. They have a ton of GTR vids, track comparos of R34 V-specIIs agianst RX7s, WRX STis, Lancers, NSXs. All sorts or R32, 33, and 34 vids. They have other videos too. Alot of long videos aswell, like the track comparo shootouts are 5 full laps or so.

NSX that picture of the henessy viper was hilarious but I would not criticise his work that bad I mean cars can run witout engines too. You can push them plus the exercise is good for your body. and if you go donhill you really don't need any engines. So Bottom line if you want to get in shape or live in a place were everywhere you go is dowhill get a henessy viper.:D

O and I was thinking on a single turbo because it would be easier and cheaper. I've read about some supras moded to have a single big turbo and they were suposedly faster. Do you think a twin turbocharged would be better than single?

Oh and that K car was sweet. there is nothing funier than a sleeper smoking a exotic car.

top secret of japan built a MR2 powered Supra that was funny it could do 200mph it had 800hp o it was turbo charged by this huge turbo ... they said 4 cylinder made for more space for cooling purposes during high speeds ......... i still don't see the point i mean you're only gonna make one run wouldn't you? i dunno maybe its a daily driver :D

I'll probably graduate this fall. The place on university is perrformance racing someting and I used to go to them but they weren't very helpful they keep teling me that is imposible to mod my car and keep teling me to buy something japanese. The new place I found is called XTR racing and they were much more helpfull and knew what they were talking about it is on state street orem.

And if you want to meet sometimes that would be cool. Just say when.

he has two hemi cars, one black and one white. they are some real sweet rides, we are a mopar family; even my girlfriend drive's a eagle talon =)

LOL, you too. I drive my 89' LeBaron, my Dad drives a 99' Grand Cherokee, my Mom drives a 300M and my bro drives and Avenger. Even my two sisters that have moved out drive Mopars. Our garage has even been titled Mopar Alley, can't wait for the new Hemi to come out to put on in the Jeep and replace the 300M with what ever car they decide to put it in. Hopefully they will revive the Cuda, Charger, Challenger, or another good Mopar name. Who knows, I plan to restore an older Cuda when I get some money. You and your family are damn lucky, three Cudas and a Satellite all in top shape. That is just sweet.

it's black, and it's a super trak-pak car with 3.54 dana
and he also has a white superstock 'clone' 66 Coronet with a hemi and a cross ram, looks real badass and with 12.1:1 compression and 472 cubes it fawkin hauls!

Lets see some pictures!!! And what size hemi?

Well being a 70' if it stock it would be the 426ci Hemi. As for the superstock it started as a 426ci Hemi I would guess.
