Hey how is it going everybody. Well i am having a little bit of troubles with the people that i got my tires from. i bought my tires about three weeks and i went to florida for spring break so i put arund 4500 miles on my truck. When i first got the tires my truck was not pulling to any side but anyways i decided to get it aligned since i had crank the torsion bars right after getting it aligned it started pulling hard to the right, i took it back to the shop the same day that i was living on my trip to get it fixed and it seems that they did not do much to it. they are balming it on the tires or the barkes which by the way i do not think is neither of those, but anyways they are going to rotate the tires tomorrow to see if it makes a difference. now my big question is....... as you all know a bad alignment will couse the tires to wear out quicker than they should.... Do any of the ones that have mud terrains noticed noticeable wear in the outside of the front tires after only 4500 miles????????? if any of you didnt, should i start complining until they get me new front tires and align my truck the way it should be or what?
Thanks for your replies cuz i need help on this one, we are talking about money here:bloated:
Thanks again

Its a hard case Venx. No - your tires should not wear excessively but your Torsion bars are cranked WAY over spec with no suspension mods to help them out. Tire place is just going to point out that no tire is designed for a vehicle set up like that.
As far as pulling goes I would get them to balance the tires (Discount Tire will often do it for free) and spend the cash on an alignment ($70 or so). If that takes care of it you are in good shape. If it doesnt then you will need to find out what the problem is on your own before you can make a case with the tire store. They sell tires and do not have much to do with what is on them.
As a rule Mud Tires are not the best for long trips across country. Many of them are notorious for bad balancing etc and that is something you MUST take into account when using them. They are off-road tires and not designed for constant use at 70mph on highway. I personally have the Goodyear Wrangler MT/R's for off-road but trade back to smaller BFG All Terrains for on-road duty. I find the balancing is better and there is less issues with wear and tear.
If youve put 4500 miles on them before going back in then I dont think you are going to get much help from the tire store.
Take a look at your rig and make sure it is set up for what you actually do with it - not what you think you do with it. That will save a lot of money and a lot of grief.
If its going to be an off-roader then you need to have the mods underneath to back it up or its just going to be for show and when you actually do use it off road you are going to damage it. Likewise - if you are going to road trip in it then you want to set it up for road-tripping - suspension, tires, wheels, shocks etc.. Or like me - you can set it up to do both. There are pros and cons to all three paths...

Good luck with it and I hope my advice is helpful

Cheers!

When you cranked your torsion bars after the alignment you screwed up all the work the shop did. Take a look at the front of your truck. I would be willing to bet the bottom of the tires are closer to the inside of the truck than the tops. With M/T tires the lugs are going to do their job and pull you in one direction or another instead of travelling flat across the pavement. The wear is just the tires evening out to fit the angle they are at.

You should have had the alignment done after you adjusted the torsion bars. Regardless, if you lifted the front of the truck too much, no shop is going to be able to get it back into factory alignment. You have to decide if having the front end an inch or so higher is worth trashing a set of $600 tires.

It's not the tire shops fault. I would lower the front end, get a new alignment, rotate the tires and hope the long trip didn't ruin them too much.

i did the alignment after cranking the torsion bars, and yes they finally told me that the problem was that the torsion the front was too lifted, so what im going to do is get the longer lower arms as well as longer torsion bars asap cuz. well the fact is that right after putting the tires in the truck did not pull in any direction (the torsion bars were cranked already) the pulling began right after i took it to the shop to get it align three days after buying the tires the other thing is that if i take it down a bit the tires wont clear, by the way what do you all think about the calmini shocks, i know you all told me to go with blistein but i was wondering about calmini since i am going to get the torsion bars and the lower control arms from them.
Thanks a lot for the replies.

This sentence made me think you cranked your torsion bars after getting the alignment. ;)

Longer lower arms? Never heard of any replacement lower arms for the X. And longer t-bars, no such thing. As for not clearing your tires, what size are they? I run 32s and clear them just fine with minimal torsion bar adjustment and I was still well within camber spec when I had my alignment done.
