i have a 2001 grand am se with a flowmaster exhaust and an air intake and i was wondering if i would get a noticeable increase on horsepower if i took my catalytic converter off and would it make it sound shitty or have a deep tone to it.

the air intake you only gain from 4-10HP the flowmaster, im not to sure if it is a Car back theres is a lil extra Hp im not sure how much, as far as the catalytic converter taken it off will help the exahust flow your car will be louder for sure but ot so much of a deep tone, you would need to get a different muffler if you want a deep deep tone i dont think you would get that much HP by removing it though so maybe a 15-20 HP gain it really depends on how sensitive you are with your car my advice find your exact same car, and see if you can test drive it and compare the two and you will know how much of an improvment there is .
Hope this helps again im not to sure about the actual HP gain or the catalytic question. maybe sombody will correct me if im wrong.
