Hey, I am about to get my whole car resprayed black, as mine is very faded and ugly, but I have a question. I am bringing it to a body shop in jersey. What is the appropriate amount of base coats and clear coats I should be getting? I just want to know what I am talking about, thanks.

what kind of paint is it? if it's dupont chromabase....a gallon of paint will give you 2 sprayable gallons because it's a 1:1 mixing ratio with basemaker. if you're going with a gallon of dupont nason, you'll have a gallon of sprayable because it's a direct spray.

figure out what type of paint you want to get and then go ask them how much you should get because everyone sprays a little different and might use a little more paint or a little less. you'll have to ask them directly to get the closest answer.
