Lift me up!!

I own an 1988 wrangler YJ, that finally after many grueling hours, has changed its mind and decided to run!! Now thou, i'm stuck in yet another problem. I have 36" super swampers that wont make the stock clearance of the jeep, so now I need a lift kit. I've been lectured time and time again, not to get a body lift, but heres my solution. I'm going to get a 3/4" body lift and a 1-3/4" suspension lift. Is this a good idea? also, is it cheaper to get this set-up or is it cheaper to get a full suspension lift? I don't need too much lift, just enough to clear my tires and make me look taller (I'm kinda of a short guy, so it makes me feel better about myself. :lol: ) But all jokes aside, which is better and cheaper?

Sorry, I talked to the guy whom i bought the tires and he told me they were 31" instead of 36 inch. but if i keep those tires, do I still need the suspension lift?

Seems like I have heard many times before as a golden rule that 30's is the largest tire to use without a lift. That is what I have on my 97 but you can try the 31's and see if you get much finder rub. If you do have a rub you shouldn't need much of a lift at all for 31's.......36's on the other hand is another story. Good Luck and glad you got it runnin.

All you'll need for 31X10.50 is a wheel with a deeper offset, otherwise your tires will rub when turning from lock to lock. You won't need a lift kit, just remember not to turn to full lock with those tires on.
