city auto auction?

Hey everyone.

Do you have any experience with city auto auctions? There's one that's not too close to my house, but has great prices on cars. A bit too great, if you know what I mean. However, I can't just hop on over there to check it out anytime I want because I am extremely busy and the place is about 4 hours away. It seems almost like a regular dealer, because they sell every wednesday and saturday. I'm worried that maybe they'd send their own people to pretend to be buyer's, and bid on the cars that you brought out to buy.

So does anybody have any experience with these sort of things? Would it be a safe bet to buy from them or should I try to look elsewhere?

Thanks a bunch.

sending their own people to bid is a violation of federal law, I doubt that they're going to violate federal law for a few hundred dollars. Most of the cars at government auctions are old work trucks from the government that have a zillion miles on them or cars they found on the side of the road that don't run anymore and were never claimed.

Sometime you can find a good saftied car for cheap, but alot of small dealerships buy there cars from these places, and sell them for more at there shops. You best bet is to check out there web page and when you see a car coming up you like then check it out.
