what is better on a 2000 honda civic 4 door

i am getting DAI RACER mags 16" (15lbs)

and i want to know which size tire is better

195/50/16

or

205/45/16 (will the 205s rub the walls when i turn???)

which size is better

take into consideration that there are many pothole here in Montreal
and the tires and mags will catch a beating
LOL

205/40/16 will give you the widest tire without rubbing and the right sidewall height to keep your speedo as accurate as possible.

Actually for a 1992-2002 Civic 195/55x15" or 205/45x16" would keep the odometer and speedo more accurate.

I'd get the 16" wheel combination and make sure you get 16x7" with 42-44mm offset to prevent rubbing.

Well it depends on what size the original tires are. Like with the '92-'95 CX and VX; the correct tire size would be 195/50/15. It's because they came with 175/70/13 tires on there. The 175/70/13 would have a radius of 287.1mm. The 195/50/15 would have a radius of 288mm. And the 195/55/15 would have a radius of 297.75mm. So the 195/50/15 would be a lot closer to the 175/70/13, than the 55's. Of course that's not anything to do with the rubbing question, but for speedo and odometer accuracy.
