So I know I have a security system, his the light on the dash plus stickers on the window stating that there is infact a security system.
I thought I didnt have one for awhile but now I think I do
I have a new deck though and I was wondering if that would have and effect on the security system. I use the remote to lock my doors but simply nothing happens, any idea?

Hit it with your hip and see if it sets off the alarm. Or could be a no-ignition security system *Shrug* if no alarm try to lock yourself inthe car hten turn it on, see what happens

Same problem here too. I got the excalibur 2 system (sticker on the window) and it doesn't work either, let alone alot of electrical things in my car don't work. Does anyone know what the little silver switch (to the left of where the radio sits, underpart of the dash on the drivers side) does, i thought it was a kill switch, but it doesn't work.

I had to reprogram mine when I bought it. it wouldn't work before that. maybe that's what you guys need to do.

first off a blinking light and a damn sticker dont mean that you have an alarm. only assume you do if 1- u put it in that car, or 2- it has been confirmed that ones on that car. we have an alarm book that tells you what every car comes with from the dealership as far as security systems go. it also says if your not sure if u have a alarm, or just a blinking light with a transmiter door opener then lock your doors and leave a window down, arem the system and then reach in and unlock the door then open it. if if goes off then you know u have a alrm, if not then u have what we like to call a false since of security. or u can be a mechanic and look under the hood and see if you have the alarm horn or wires if u can find it.

Mine is a fatory alarm, it goes threw the normal horn. not a totally seperate alarm horn! I didn't know that I had one either till I bought a new remote, and unknowingly set it when I locked the doors, and it went off when I just used my key instead of the unlock button on the remote.

Ive already tried all of that looking the doors from the inside, ive just about locked the doors anyways they can be locked. Generally I just use the remote though. The panic button works on the remote but when I lock the doors nothing shows that the alarm is active, no lights, no sounds, no reaction when shoving the car or trying to open the door.
How do you reprogram, I think I checked the manuel once and it just confused me.

you just have to follow all of those steps in the manual. you could also have a dealership check to see if one is installed, just give them your VIN and they can look it up to see if it came with one.

O Connor, not tryin to take over your thread, but my alarm isn't factory. It was custom, cuz when ever i disconnect the positive battery cable, you here that dut-dut, and i also have the switch (that goes on the key chain, can't remember what its called:banghead:) but the battery are dead in that anyway. But i know it doesn't wprk cuz when i bump the car nothing goes off. Probably gotta get it reprogrammed like everyones says.
