Can I use a 1g turbo oil pan in a 2g turbo?

I would assume so since they are both the same engine. Make sure you get a oil pan from a 7-bolt motor (93 and up) cause the 6-bolt one might be different.

i dont think you can. i think i remeber hearing that something is different.
i know the 6 and 7 bolt pans are different since its one way to identify whether you have a 6 or 7 bolt motor

The front covers are different, which then requires different oil pans to match up. The block castings are the same as far as the oil pan flange goes, but the pan has to match the oil pump/front cover. For example, people running 6 bolt motors but using the RRE method that involves using the 2g oil pump/front cover have to use the 2g oil pan. Etc.
