Tower we have lift off.

Ok, I have my rear coilover sleeves set for about a 1" drop in back. so there fore there is only about 1" of the sleeve up insid ethe coil. I am on stock shocks right now till nextmonth when I get some KYB agx's. What is happening is when i go over a bump sometimes the rear passenger side spring will lift up and endup sitting ontop of the sleeve and not on the perch. And it will stay there till I go over a smaller bump to knock it off the sleeve and back dow to the perch which results in a sound similar to someone hitting my spring with a tac hammer. I am not possitive that that is whats going on but I would bet 50 bucks on it. Its the only thing that could be doing it. It happend when I jacked my car up and then put it back down withought aligning the spring over the sleeve. So its got to be it. Now, will getting the new shocks prevent this? Will it reduce the travel enough so there is never a space between the spring and the pearches, or top hats?

there is now way the spring can come off the perch unless ur wheels come off the floor over a bump. either that or ur springs are way to short. wut kind of springs did u buy?!? if it keeps doing that sometging is going to break.

Well, they are not just springs, they are springs and sleeves.
They are maxspeed coilovers.

Here, this picture will show you what is going on. If I go over slight bumps nothing happens, however if I go over slightly large or larger bumps the spring will fully Decompress, and my shock will decompress even further which would leave som space between the spring and the perch. The sping does not always lift up when this happens for the most part it would stay rested on the bottom perch and you would never know anything happened.

But sometimes I will go over a larger bump ( I wont notice anything out of the ordinary) till I go over another bump large or small, then I hear that sound which I assuming is the sound of the spring slipping off the sleeve and back down to the perch.

Now I could be completely wrong but this has to be what is happening. Are my shocks supposed to rebound that far? far enough to leave a space in there? I would assume this is not supposed to happen of course, but would getting new AGX's keep from rebounding so far? They are not shortened pistons or anything.

The rebound on ur struts is not strong enough. the struts are not controling the spring rebound after u go over a bump. I highly recommend upgrading struts. I'm not completely sure about this but KONI struts may have a slightly shorter strut body. This may also help in this situation. but deffinately need a stronger rebound on the struts. Does the car bounce a lot since ur still ridding on stock struts with higher spring rates?

Heee, its great when you have a hot date. It doesnt bounce horribly, not enough to make you sick. But deff. annoying.

Maybe I will pick up the Koni's instead of the KYB's

Yes, look into the KONIs They are good struts. I've had experience with AGXs and neuspeed race srpngs and they bounce horrible. but then again the RACE springs are one of the strongest lowering springs out there.
