Here is a flat purple escalade too.
No airbrushing on this one though.
Was used for part of a small t-shirt print.

Better suited to Graphic Manipulation, but very nice.

Manipulation?
I don't think so!
Explain please.
I assure you it is an airbrushed illustration

But I still love you great one with the cool avatar. :)

he means it is not really a sketch or a drawing in the traditional sense. did you do pre-sketches? post those, as well, if you can.

otherwise, it is an incredible digital rendering from a photo.

My opinion is that ace has a basic misunderstanding of my
work.
Manipulation means filters and no art.
You take an outline that you drew and put it into painter.
Make another layer of the photo and manipulate the photo
to look like it was your airbrush work - but it is still a photo.
An illustration is where you have a flat drawing of a car
and you use your airbrush and selection tool to transform the
2-d art into a 3-d car. Please point me to a program that
will air brush a car for me. It would make my life easier. :)
And would qualify my work as a manipulation.
Calling a digitally airbrushed car a manipulation is like calling
an airbrushed sorayama a minipulation because he light boxed
a friggin source photo.
It bothers me - that term.
I will post the stages of this one tonight.

right. i get it.

his comment, then, is actually an unintentional compliment. you executed it so well, it may appear to some as "manipulation."

it is obvious to me that you did not "filter" a photo. it is "hand drawn" digitally. you did it from the ground up, just like lemorris or anyone else here who works in illy.

you get props.

Very nice illustration! It looks like a picture!

Better suited to Graphic Manipulation, but very nice.

I dissagree. There is no reason to move this from the sketching and drawing forum when it IS an illustration, and it was orignally posted in the correct forum.

Anyway you must look at the bright side, you will have more people viewing your thread, meaning more comments. :grinno:

Hope I didn't make anybody mad with
my half assed broken down tirade.

I also see your point ran!
I get more hits. There is a good side.

Thanks for the support guys! :smokin:

It looks great but this goes under a chapter of Automotive Graphic Manipulation. By that i mean that if you go to Photoshop sites you will allways see "cell shades" (thats what this type of work is called) and its usually under Graphic Manipulation.

Also if you check out the Graphic Manipulation forum you'll see alot more then just "filters" being used, theres actually alot more work put into car chops then most people think :)

Although I disagree w/ this being in graphic manip, since this is the same type of work as lemorris's or Jeri's, I still love it. Great work

eeennnnttttt.....wrong answer.
Stewie rewels.

My work is just as much a hand drawn illustration as any
other airbrushed work .
Doing your drawing in ps doesn't equal photo manipulation.
This is a painting that started with no pixels. Blank canvas.http://files.automotiveforums.com/gallery/watermark.php?file=/500/323461painting-med.jpg
I built this form with an air brush just like any other airbrush artist.

I am not saying that I don't draw from a photo reference. But that is not what qualifies a manipulation. Nobody does photo realism without a photo reference.

Good manips are very hard to do.
Manipulation is photo fakery. That is not me.
Thanks for the replies!

Ohhhh, sorry i think there was some assumption on my part, because i assumed that you had used the tracing technique that people use for cell shaded cars. Sorry. It was a mistake on my part, i thought it was basically a traced image with the colors selected from the original picture, although not using filters, that is still considered graphic manip, and i thought thats what you did.

Once again i apologize, it was wrong for me to assume that.

btw: Great work.

Dude calm down. Its not a big deal.

KustmAce you are the man.
And GS I promise it is no big deal at all.
I shouldn't get so long winded. Or my panties in a wad either.
My bad too. btw if you see my sh!t up close it is really unpolished
compared to the people who airbrush well. It is the magic of a jpeg.

Those look very cool
Very graphic artist looking

If this is drawn w/ a computer it belongs in the sketching and drawing.

This is different form the chops you guys like to do.
Nothing against chops

I took a long look through the manip section here and there is some
amazing stuff going on. It IS an artform no doubt when someone
fuses and cuts and brushes these pictures so well. I can't do it. It has to take alot of work to get that good.
And alot of finesse :)

Thanks for the compliments man!
Sorry if I came off as a jerk with my earlier replies.
