Wheel offsets???

alright, after searching past threads, im still left with my question, 'why cant you put RWD wheels on a FWD car?' i understand it has to do with something with offsets and the rim not fitting over the drum brakes or calipers, but if you get big enough rims to clear them, why wouldnt RWD wheels fit. can someone plase explain this to me?:banghead:

"RWD" rims generally have very low offset, this means they would stick out the sides of the car. If you fitted proper tires to them they'd rub on the fenders. They would also put tremendous stress on your CV's, studs, and wheel bearings.

I use 225/50/r16 on stock 1g rims (stock are 205/55/r16). These tires came of a 300ZX which is RWD. They do stick out the side of the rim but have not ran into any problems with them. I still have enough breathing room in the wheel well.

tires arent any different for fwd or rwd. its just the wheels that are different
