boost psi

has anyone had any experiance dealing with how much boost a stock engine, 2.2 cavalier/sunfire, can take? I need the maximum that it can handle before it wll screw anything up. I do not wan anyone that has not boosted their car and only has knowlage of actually doing it, or knows some one that has done it.

well it depends, the max amount of boost has alot to take into consideration. Are you going to be upgrading the internals? What kind of fuel mods are you doing?

IF built properly you could prolly run 12-15 PSI on the engine. I wouldnt run more than 6 PSI on the stock internals, and no more than 3 PSI if you dont do any fuel upgrades.

Adler on JBo is running 211hp with a fully built motor and 7psi. Oh yea... good ole' pushrods. 99 2.2.

im not doing the internals yet. i do have a 255 fuel pump and a FMU.

do it right and just get bigger injectors with a stand alone. I think the injectors off a Ld9 will work fine for you, they should be good for up to 170 HP ish.
