swaps

so i have a question about swaps...
i'm about ready to get one for my car..
my budget is about $2500..at the max $3000...
i'm choosing bet. b18c or h22a..or a clean ls swap which will leave me with some money that i can use to save towards a turbo since ls is a low comp. motor already..
which would be the best way to go???

b18c is costly although a very potent motor...
h22 is a great motor..and i'll probally pull mid 13's with that swap...but i know it's a lil bit more difficult a swap than the b18c..and other misc. parts will have to bought...and i heard it's tougher to boost it due to its fiber walls...
so my question is what would u do and why...

In My Opinnion if I had 3gz Left i would probably Turbo My D16 put some pistons,rods, 12psi on T3 and that would be enough to be in 13's.

But In other hand if you want to be N/A and Drag race h22 is Way to go!

look i'm not gonna knock a d series since ths what i have and all..and a well tuned d series will own a b16....but i'm not about to turbo a motor with 150xxx miles on it...and it doesn;t have enough potential...in the long run gsr or prelude motor is better

Thats A big Mileg you got their!! any way then just get H22 The Great shit about its just you can do 250whp and Stay N/A and it will last more then Turbo Engine for Sure !

remember that MOST swaps will always end up costing you more than what it calculates out to on paper. there will always be missing parts/broken parts that need to be replaced and even parts that you'd want to replace since the motor is out of the car already. what car is this motor going into? if i had to choose ... i would go with the LS for starters. when you have more money you can go always get a vtec head and then turbo

There's no way you're going to be able to swap in an H22a into your Civic for $3,000 or under. Don't let the price of the "complete swaps" fool you, for your car (or any Civic) they aren't complete swaps. And I agree the LS is the way to go.

yup this is gonna cost you more than 3,000 so either save up for more or go with a ls or b16 swap

i know the h22a swap with everything is roughly going to cost me about 4000...as will the gsr..since i'm going for an obd2 motor from a newer year...
type r's will run me about 5k...
ls is the most reasonable choice...
however after buyin this swap i'll b tapped out..and a stock h22 or gsr will generate more power than a ls...but with ls i'll prolly go turbo sooner than i can with any of the other...
so i guess what it comes down to is this...
h22a...swap $4k +...future plans
gsr..swap $4k + ..future plans...
ls..with turbo will prolly b around $4k...

all motor i'm weary about because it's more expensive however theres dependability there....
i hope i made myself clearer...if not i appreciate ur input anyways..and u can tell me what u would do..

Well, all motor could be more expensive. But if you want more reliability and want to up the boost more with an engine, then you'll have to build the block anyways. So if you built the block for boost, then it'd be more expensive to turbo the engine than it would to all motor it.
Personally I'd say go with the LS if you plan to just slap a turbo kit on.

what do u guys think about the spoon crate motors???
u think it's cheaper to buy a motor and build internals to get it to that level?

The Spoon engines are balanced and blueprinted only and a thinner head gasket (2ply instead of the stock 3ply), there is no other change with the internals (no higher compression pistons, better rods, cams, etc). They're built for endurance racing, not for ¼ runs. You'd be far better off spending the extra $ on getting it built yourself. Not to mention they only come with the block, so you'd have to buy all the other stuff seperately (more $).

yup I left I was Smod there too that site shames all civic owners its like a party fun time for FnF fans to cry in 90% people there dont even change their own oil and talk about how yea i'm getting a K swap in my 1983 accord, They all think that its better to own a civic then a cobra cause its easy to work of civics and some make good power so its gotta be easy to make a civic fast right? lol

I can go on for few more weeks about why that place sucks if you'd like :lol:

4k is a rough figure...it's cheaper than getting a b18c1 or c5 or h22 and turbo'ing that shyt...

95% of ppl like Hmo i don't myself there 2 guys there ones awesome Steve i think his name is. I got the other dude. So if you get steve its good.

PW jdm is shaky from all i've heard i got from PW jdm took forever on backorder but came well.

havn't heard the other 2. I would say totaljdm but they are dead still.
