Woot ... I am pleased with all of the winter work that has been done:

Weight reduction
Carbon fiber trunk
Fiberglass spoiler
Carbon fiber mirrors
De-optioned OEM doors (no p/w, p/l or p/m)

Wheels
A new set of drag wheels and tires, also a new set of road racing wheels and tires.

Power
850 cc injectors, Wolfkatx fuelrail, 272 in cam and 264 exh cam, ATS adjustable cam gears and the Hydra Nemesis EMS ... we will be dyno tuning on Thursday looking for 400 ~ 450 rwhp.

If you want to see photos, check out the MR2 forum on here (more details there) or you can check out this Web gallery:http://www.jekylhyderacing.com/hyde2005/index.htm

Hopefully, I will have some kill stories soon ... first big race is at the end of the Month: NHRA @ Englishtown.

Kills??? I thought you were racing against yourself, and please don't kill yourself

BTW, there's a non-specific forum under the racing section.

thanks clawhammer ...

igovert, we are looking for 400-450 rwhp. We'll see in just over 48 hours ;)

youngvr4, thereotically with 425+ rwhp I should be able to snif tens on a perfect run.

We'll see. I actually was running on a bad clutch since July lasts year which is why Inever bettered my 11.7. With a proper clutch, I should have easily hit 11.4 ~ 11.5.

The EMS I bought has a built in 20step rev limiter so I should be able to get off the line on boost ~ no lag. I also have lighter wheels for drag racing and much bigger tires.

If I can't do 10s on the BFG DRs, I am confident that I can on the DOT Mickey Thomspns. The MR2 world (and people on this board) have seen amazing results with the Mickey's ... can't wait to try them ;)

... incase you guys did not catch it, the first NHRA Sport Compact event of the year was yesterday.

The Sport RWD class was won by a turbo MR2 (Mike Colon) ... awesome stuff. He's thefirst MR2 in the country to win a Wally.

wooohoooo ;)

I heard the MR2 news. I think I saw it on the 2oc... I could only aspire to be like you, Jek! Very impressive, especially in light of what I saw on your site earlier modification-wise for Hyde. I can't wait to see your next dyno and slips. You've got my cheers 113.672%!!!

Nice man. Still bummed I couldn't get an MR2. I'm still young though who knows.

So is "Rolling Liberty" the guys who had the highest bid on your ebay advertisement?

DeVil, yes ... Rolling Liberty was put on there by the woman who won the eBay auction. I actually got 3 deals from the eBay auction (Rolling Liberty, LuckyCasino7 and KBOX.CA).

We started street tuning tonight ... Hyde is truly sick fast. It looks like we might be surpassing 340 rwhp at 17 psi with pump gas. we'll know tomorrow.

Hopefully we can hit 400 rwhp with race gas and 22-24 psi of boost.

We also checked the compression .... still perfect at 200,500 original miles ;)
